You are Never Coming Home

Well, I felt I couldn't take,
another day inside this place.
From silent dreams you’ll never wake,
you’re starless eyes, for heaven's sake,
but [I thought I heard you] anyway:

            I miss you so far,

But you're so far away.
Get the feeling that you’re never all alone
and I remember now,
you are never coming home.
All the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me.
If you were here I'd never have a fear.
Cause I mean this more than words can ever say;

I miss you more than I did yesterday.

I wrote this poem for a friend who died several months ago. It was compiled from lyrics of songs by her favorite band, My Chemical Romance, including “The Ghost of You,” “This is the Best Day Ever,” “Hang ‘em High,” “Cemetery Drive,” and more. Her memory will always live in my heart, and I wanted to share these emotions with others!
