Beginning of an End?

Wow, it's been awhile. I should get some type of reminder for checking this site more than once every two months. Also, I apologize if this seems to ramble about completely irrelevant and boring subjects. But, anyways...

Yeah, senior year. I started a few weeks ago, and it's been goin' pretty well. I start out taking 3 AP classes and a college level math class (Next semester my math will be replaced by another AP). I have AP Phys, AP English, and AP Spanish. I tried out for the Fall Musical, the Pirates of Penzance, specifically for the part of the Pirate King. I find out tomorrow (Monday) whether I got it or not. THere is a new choral director to replace Mr. Wolterstorff, an amazing and intelligent man who has been the rock of Timothy Christian High for about 40 years. The new guy's name is Mr. Bates. He's pretty cool, and he's teaching us more music theory in a couple weeks than Wolty taught over the enire last year. Many people don't like him, simply because he's different, but the theory is helping me a lot because I plan on trying out for IMEA again this year. Last year, I made the Honors All-State Choir sponsored by the Illinois Music Educator's Association, and I hope I'll be able to make it again.

Classes are going relatively well. Physics only meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, at Period 0. Mmhmm, we get to meet an hour before school actually starts. What fun. English isn't that bad. Mr. Day is VERY melodramatic, and takes an entire 45-minute class period to read aloud what would have taken me 10 minutes to read and annotate. Okay, fine, it would actually take half an hour, but still. Spanish is definitely the hardest. I was never really THAT good at it, and this is the only AP class I'm taking that I only take for the credit, but no one's perfect, right?

In the midst of all this extraordinary ordinary, I got news a couple days ago. I'm a National Merit Semi-Finalist.

Which means I'm on my way to some great scholarships! That is, if I don't mess everything up...

Sounds a little like mine was some ten years ago.
Anyway, I just wanted to say good luck and that I hope to hear from you more.

Love is like a box of chocolates; if you chose wisely you won’t be disappointed and have to spit it out.

I can't say that I miss it!

It sounds like you have a lot on your plate, but I encourage you to keep it up. As they say, you have perfect 20/20 hindsight, and looking back I know there was a lot more I could have done. That being said, do your best and don't forget to enjoy it.

Best of luck to you!
