Defining something that is Relative

Thinking progressively is an interesting idea. (It isn’t original, but it is forgotten.)
Most of our lives, we turn our attention to ONE thing, and we are blind to all others. We are made to do so… the human brain works the entire day to sift through different sensations, to isolate the “most important” or “most crucial” for that moment in time, for survival; otherwise, we would hear everything, we could not pay attention… and where would we be? (A complete mess!!)

So…as our bodies tell us to do so, we must FOCUS.

It is clear to me that our society, our sense of community, our sense of worth, and our purpose—is in for a big one. There is no focus, there is no concern, but there is only complacency.

Thinking progressively is thinking of what can be, what should be, what can be.

I would like to add one more caveat that progression requires action.
There is thinking progressively, and then there is living progressively.

Today, I see a lot of idleness in our society, in our youth, in our citizens. I see disillusionment, I see distrust for a government, and it annoys me, it hurts me, it motivates me to do something about it.

My concerns for where this country is going is rooted in my observations of my high school classrooms, American mass media, and a lot of my experiences are rooted I this war. What does war do to our nation???

Progression is needed, it has gotten us here, to this moment—I am sitting on a computer in a classroom, writing to an audience of millions because the internet is world wide.

In a generation where instant gratification has made us content and complacent… how will we progress from here? What are the issues? What are the concerns? What needs to be changed?

My blog will hit all of these facets of what is needed in today’s society, because if we are not thinking critically, thinking progressively, we will be stuck here… wanting more, but never getting more.
