Each one could be a blog in its own right with a little extra research. I'd like to encourage you to embrace the beauty that is the pronoun, though. It was a little difficult to read Lucius Cincinnatus over and over, and since you broke it down by paragraph, one courageous person per, we would be able to follow if you were to write 'he' and 'him' a little more often. It will improve the flow of the piece.
