As a Christian, I’m tired of being called “intolerant.” First of all, neither the Bible nor the Constitution tells us to be tolerant. (Quite the contrary, the Bible tells us to spread the word throughout the earth and the Constitution gives Americans the freedom of speech, religion, and press that is necessary to do so legally.) Therefore, it is a completely foreign concept to us, not just common sense as it is perceived to be. Considering that, anyone that tells us to tolerate others should consider what they’re saying. If tolerance is the standard for us, it is the standard for them as well. Besides that (and this is the better reason of the two), no other group tolerates us. Muslims, Humanists, New Agers, Communists, etc. no one tolerates Christians. Also, the concept of separation of church and state has been twisted to fit whatever judges want it to fit regardless of its original meaning. The founding fathers stated quite clearly that the separation of church and state simply prohibited the government from establishing an official religion and persecuting those who refuse to accept it. It did not mean that federal employees and teachers could not talk about God at work, and it certainly was not intended to be used to teach our children a completely atheist version of history and biology. (I have one side note on that. Atheism may claim to be a lack of religion, but a lack of God is not a lack of religion. In reality, no belief ever really could be. Short of remaining completely unsure on every single question (ie. “Where did we come from?” “Why are we here?” “Is there a purpose in life?” etc.) no one can have no religious beliefs whatsoever. Likewise, teaching atheistic values is an equal infraction of the separation of church and state if one interprets it in the way I have already deemed incorrect. If our schools were to be truly separated from religion they should offer the option of classes from a Christian viewpoint and from an Atheistic viewpoint, even a Muslim viewpoint if there is enough interest.) (Also, if anyone cares to know why I added “relentless” to the title, he should look up the lyrics to “Relentless Intolerance” by Demon Hunter.)
Relentless Intolerance

I am not intolerant towards Christians. I will be straight up here, though. People who say things like that are the reason why non-Christians often have low tolerance for Christians.

Actually, they stated quite clearly that the Government could not, would not, and should not, endorse any one religion over any other. This means that you cannot -- while working for the Government -- use your working time (which the taxpayers are paying for) to endorse religion. Why? Because you're a part of the Government.
Now, as for the "atheist" version of Biology. Have you ever stopped to consider that all of the evidence points toward this version being the correct version?
My guess is no.
As for the "atheist" version of history, you'll have to tell me about that one. Certainly you aren't a Christian reconstructionalist. Their papers have been laughed out of everywhere (something to do with their sources not checking out) save for the University of Alabama (which also happens to be the last bastion of the neo-confederate Academy).

Atheism is the absence of faith in any god. It is not another kind of faith. It is a belief in things which can be proven, which is less belief than understanding of facts. (I'm not an atheist, in the interest of full disclosure).
Also, you don't have to be tolerant, but you are tired of the intolerance against you? The intolerance of Christians is an intolerance of their intolerance.

If I'm reading this right, you are saying that Christians are not only not required to be tolerant but are also part of the anti-tolerance mission against others? And you say you, as a Christian, are sick of being called intolerant? Well, my dear, you might want to get used to it.
I'm not intolerant of any race, class, religion, gender, or any other group. I'm accepting of human beings as individuals. I'm not religious, yet you generalized and stated that, those of us who aren't Christians, are basically all against Christians.
I'm agnostic, in my own way. I don't really care if there is/are/was (a) higher being(s). It just really doesn't affect my life. I'm not concerned with what happens when I die. I live the life I KNOW I have because it's right here. I am a decent person because that's who I am, not because I'm afraid of some vengeful god. I'm more than comfortable not knowing how we got here or why. I'm here now.
Biology is proven. Religion is not.
