BOTOX or COSMETIC surgery at the mall?

"On Oct. 31, a middle-aged woman was getting Restylane injections to plump up the lines around her lips. It’s a fairly routine procedure these days—according  to the most recent statistics from American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, such injections were given more than a million times in 2005 (www.msn.com)."

With that I have been reading and seeing more cosmetic surgeries than ever. what happened to NATURAL? Being free and expression your inner-beauty. . . I guess we just threw that outta the window. There was an expected 1.82 million injections in 2006. The average cost for a minor face job is around 400 dollars ( http://www.mybodypart.com/botox-prices.html). This increasing statistics is scary because I think we are becoming a world of people trying to look "perfect". Soon we'll have a world of 205 pound men with abs of steel and the perfect "bod" along with huge biceps; whereas our women will be perfect c and d cups with coke-bottle shape and beautiful eyes. Don't get me wrong its ok to change but what about exercise and a lilttle make-up or a different hairstyle? With the increasing popularity the prcocess probably will be done in the mall in a matter of minutes in the future. . . So what does this say? We all want ot be accepted and loved. I think if wee let down our barriers and stereotypical thinking we can all lat loose a little more.

Lastly what are some of the effects of botox and cosmetic surgery. . . headache, respiratory infections, cerebral palsy, droopy eyelids, nausea, flu-like symptoms etc. . . Side affects are very common but is all this worth lifting your brow, or changing your smile?
