Guitar Hero today is one of the most played games. As I'm sure you all already knew. I'm not sure why this game is so addicting though. I myself am guilty of playing guitar hero and personally I love it. I'm not sure what it is about this game that makes me like so many others play for hours.
It could possibly be the fact that at the end of every song you get a big YOU ROCK! Which could really boost self-esteem. Or if it is the simple fact that it is one more way to compete with other people.
More then once have I been invited to someones house for a Guitar Hero "party". Most of the time it isn't so much a party as it is a bunch of people sitting around someones television while two people rock out in "pro face off" mode. The feeling of winning is exhilarating and gives everyone a high. Who can resist the power of being able to tell everyone that it is one more thing that you are better at then they are.
Not to mention the major points that guitar hero could get you with boys. My brothers automatically think that I am ten times cooler while i am playing this game. What is it about Guitar Hero that has this kind of control over people?

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80's
And that is just the currently released games there are more to come. Supposedly there with be a Guitar Hero IV, Guitar Hero: On Tour, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, and yet another unnamed guitar hero.
Which undoubtedly everyone remotely interested will end up buying if not one possibly all of the above games.

got so popular so quick. I find it kind of boring. It's fun for a little bit, I guess my friends kind of burnt me out of it when it first came out. I've never really been too into video games though. I guess I'm more into reading, and doing something active. I get depressed when I sit inside for too long. Guitar Hero is fun when I do play it nowadays; I just don't get how people can play it for days and days without getting completely bored with the same songs all the time. Or maybe it's because I'm not too incredible at it, and I get tired of starting the songs over all the time... Haha, that could be it...
yea I know what you mean I would much rather read or do something else more productive. but at the same time once in a while I just feel like I have to play. It's strangely addictive even when you think it's a complete waste of time.
