Story of my life up until adulthood:
I'm born, my brother is born, my parents divorce, I go to kindergarten, I switch schools, my little brother is born, I switch schools in 4th grade, I make new friends, i graduate 8th grade, I go to high school, I switch schools in 10th grade, I finish 10th grade, I almost drop out, I go to night school and catch up on my credits for an entire year in 7 weeks, I go back to school senior year, i graduate, I move out, I work.
Truth be told, I haven't stepped foot onto a school campus (unless you count Saturdays when the college becomes a swap meet") since the day I walked off my high school campus the night of graduation. But that's all about to change.
I'm going back to school next month, to be a nurse. I'm kind of excited, yet I know that two weeks into it, I'm going to become annoyed and ask myself why I did it to begin with.
Why am I going back to school? Because it's progress. It's a step in the right direction. It's going to take about 3 years to get my AA, but right now they make the same as nurses with a BA. Theres a shortage I guess. My overall goal is to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. It's going to take a lot of hard work and dedication, but it will all be worth it.
I'm going to get myself, as well as my boyfriend, out of this financial hole that we're in. We're going to get out of the hole, and build a mountain where that whole used to be. That is progress.
What is progress? A better question is "what isn't progress". If you think about it, almost everything is progress. Breathing, eating, drinking, Living is progress. Even if you get yourself into a downward spiral, its still progress. Eventually, you're going to hit rock bottom, and you're going to move back up. LIFE IS PROGRESS.

You extended my views on progress. Life (and the advancement of it) is indeed progress, especially when you're learning and motivated to become a nurse. Well done.

Sounds like you have some good, clear goals in mind. Keep on working for them, and someday you'll get there.

I wish my college turned into a swap meet on Saturdays. That would be nice.
