We all know of the famous website www.Google.com. We use it for everything. I am thankful for many many things and one of them is probably google. I can search anything on the site and I get accurate feedback right away. I have searched things from recipies to movie quotes. Even though there are may other search engines on the internet, Google is by far the most popular.
Where did the name Google come from?
The name comes from the word googol. Googol - the number one followed by one hundred zeros.
Who created the site?
Two students from Stanford University created the search engine. Prior to the site being Google it was called BackRub.
So next time you search an actor, movie, prescription, phone number, business, recipie, animal, quote, or food remember the history of Google.
Be thankful that we have tecnology such as Google to help us use our time more wisely. Just think if Google was not invented we would have to watch movies over and over to find out who said a specific quote or we would have to guess when adding a certain amount of sugar to a cherry cheesecake.
