Why are there no regulations on lipstick??

Okay, I have been relly watching the news lately on all the recalls on food, dog food and toys nationwide.  Hamburgers and pot pies, dog and cat food, and varies toys have been pulled from store shelves in an effort to save lives.

I was getting dressed for a party, when I heard a that they were getting ready to recall lipstick due to the levels of lead that was found to contain.  I never knew exactly what went into making the product.  I just figured that it was safe, thinking that something that was used by millions of people on a daily basis was regulated by the Federal government.  Boy was I wrong!!

Sadly to my surprise, there are no Federal regulations for any make up or hair care products.  Everyone uses these items on a daily basis and there is no one looking out for us, the consumer, from the companies.  If we do not start demanding some type of standards for these types of products, we are playing Russian rulet in a "buyer beware" driven industry.

Ladies, we could be putting that lipgloss on for the last time without even knowing the risk involved. And gentlemen, you could be the receipient of the real "kiss of death".
