She Just Needs a Reason to Smile.
By Me.
She's so plain when she doesn't smile.
And lately it's been hard to find a reason to smile.
Each day she lets herself down a little bit more.
And each day she lets herself go a little bit more.
She just needs a reason to smile.
When high expectations turn into silent regrets.
And ambitions turn to shortcomings.
There is hardly a reason to pick up and move on.
There is hardly a reason to put one foot infront of the other.
Easier to sleep the day away.
Easier to pretend it's not happening.
Easier to wait out the storm through the rain.
Than to search for shelter.
She's so plain when she doesn't smile.
And lately it's been hard to find a reason to smile.
Each day she lets herself down a little bit more.
And each day she lets herself go a little bit more.
She just needs a reason to smile.
The friends she seek just pass her by
As she lowers her gaze in avoidance.
The success the yearns for passes her by
When she can't find it in her to meet its demands.
There is no sunshine through the clouds.
The light at the end of the tunnel has gone out.
There is no shore to her sea.
And no reason to be.
She's so plain when she doesn't smile.
And lately it's been hard to find a reason to smile.
Each day she lets herself down a little bit more.
And each day she lets herself go a little bit more.
She just needs a reason to smile.
Each day she lets herself down a little bit more.
