cliques

"I don't like that girl, because she's emo and im preppy and popular". Have you ever heard that? or do YOU personally dislike someone because they're in a different clique that you are? or do you know people at people who exclude others because they're not the same?

This came to my mind in health class, we watched a movie for three days straight about different cliques in school and how the high school jocks would exclude the skaters, or the punks, or the goths or any of the other groups, excluding the popular preps.

as i watched that movie. i thought about it for a day, and i decided MY school is not like that AT all.. it's not really separated by the different groups, it's more separated by the CLASS like the senior class and junior class.

my high school is divded into TWO schools.

one school is for Freshmen and Sophmores, the other school is for Juniors and seniors.

i personally think it is better that way because SOME freshmen and SOME sohphmores are really immature compared to SOME juniors and SOME seniors. [i say some b/c not everyone is immature or mature]

ANYWAYS. back into the TOPIC. ugh im so bad at staying in the same subject, oh here i go again.

OKAY!!

well as i was saying. does your school have cliques?

i think mine does but it's not THAT noticable. because in my school. i KNOW everyone. i think it's because in middle school everyone knew eachother really well and then we get to know all of eachother in our classes. Also, i think i am mostly friends with ANYONE. I am a very friendly person so i can talk to anyone. well SOMETIMES i can talk to anyone. b/c im also really shy. our school is basically friends with everyone unless you're in a different class then things are a little different.

if your school has cliques, which one you do associate yourself with? tell the truth. i won't judge you.

to mention that my school is pretty big. i think i have around 1000 in my graduating class of 2008, so 2000 kids in the Junior and Senior building, maybe a little more because the junior class is pretty big.. and about 2000 in the Freshmen Sophmore building

[i might be a little off with my estimates but hey i don't care :P]

Well, I would say you're extremely lucky.

I go to a really small school (about 150-200 kids in each class), and all four classes are often mixed together. No one really discriminates by age, except some seniors think they're too good for freshman. (And I would have to agree that most of the freshmen and sophomores are a bit immature.) But, we do have cliques. I don't understand the terms, but I guess I'm punk or something.

In my school, all the groups exclude each other, and I really don't care about that. Some of my friends are different from me, and I think life is extremely boring when all of your friends are exactly like you. Generally, the popular kids only hang out with each other... but the cliques aren't that bad at my school. People won't hang out with other groups outside of school, but we can usually all be civilized and know each other, probably because the school is so small. Also, I think we're growing up, and it's completely necessary.
