What is your (intended ) major/career?

I am pursuing an activist Unitarian Universalist church or community ministry. I am studying Theology and Women's Studies topics.

What issues are you most interested in (women's rights, education, racism, advancement of science, the environment, etc)?

There are too many topics that grab my attention, it is hard to empathetic when the world is a mess sometimes. My strongest interests are environmentalism and poverty.

What advice do you have for other bloggers?

Make sure to read what you write at least twice and always take the time to edit.

Are you in school, and if so, what year are you?

I'm entering my second year of graduate school. I'll graduate with a Masters of Divinity in 2010 with a concentration is Women's Studies.

If you had to describe yourself (or your blog) in one word what would it be?

Vibrant

What do you like best about ProgressiveU and your experience here?

I really love the back and forth feedback and debate. I think that the community is primarily a respectful and welcoming community. It is vibrant, varied, and intellectually and emotionally engaging.

If you had a million dollars to spend on anything but yourself, how would you spend it?

I would pay off my sister's mortgage, put some money into my children's college funds, and then I would donate the rest to the UUSC for Darfur activism and relief.

What book/movie has most influenced your thinking on an important issue?

Most recently, it is the book Generation to Generation by Friedman. This is a book about family systems theory, and it has caused me to examine my relationships and how I engage with others.

How are you active in politics/seeking social justice in your community?

This past year I worked at the Emmaus House Poverty Rights Office. Recently, I've been speaking around Georgia on living wage topics in concert with the Living Wage Coalition.

What achievement are you most proud of?

I am very pleased with my family life, and the way that my husband and I are raising our children. Intentional parenting and relationship is hard, but is incredibly rewarding.

What is your favorite article of clothing and why?

I like funky socks. I have lots of funky, fuzzy, and some hand made socks. Even if I have to dress conservatively, I can have my crazy socks peaking out.
