Today people I am going to talk about dead topics. These topics have been talked about so much that people across the country are still screaming. So please stop posting about the same things. My eyes are starting to bleed at the mere sight of the topic. Be original think of new ideas!
I have been in my normal rountine for Monday since I don't have to work today. I get up I get on this site. I stay on this site all day long and wonder where my day went. But now after I post this I am actually for once ready to log out.( This may be a good thing for me)
I have compiled a list of topics that are dead and no more discussion really needs to be put into them, because 1,001 times will not make a difference.
Religion- As in which religion is the right religion. I also don't care if you are having a get together at your church that is nice for you and I am happy for you but please spare me
Senoritious- I have seen alot of post about this. I know you are a senior and don't feel like being there and are wanting to graduate badly but we have heard it, to much.
Iraq- Unless you have a new opinion about Iraq then I don't want to hear about it either. The war is pointless yes and Bush is a fuk up we know this.
Global Warming- unless it is a new cause or theory we have heard it. it is also a dead topic
Your Boyfriend or Girlfriend- If you would like advice fine. I don't care to give advice, but please stop talking about how wonderful or how awful they are.
Abortion- Do I really even need to say it?
Racism
I am sure no one else wants to hear about the to kill or not to kill the old people if they are suffering arguement again.
Please no more pot post for or against it.
I am sure there are other topics that are dead I just can't think of them at the moment. The only thing I am asking is can we please think of some new ideas? There is alot of new people on this website. I noticed that I haven't seen the normal online user names that I normally do. This could be the issue I am not sure.
Please research on some new topics. This has been the first time I have actually been bored to death on here. I hate to rant and rave but I really would like to read about some new ideas. Go to the search bar at the top of the site before you do a topic and type in the topic you are thinking about writing. If you find alot of things on that topic don't write about it. We all have read about 100 times and would love to be spared the 101th time of even looking at it. If you can't think of anything comment on other people's blogs.Plus you are wasting space on the recent post page by posting something we have read 100 times.
Do whatever you want but If you just look and see no comments and no reads than we all probably don't want to read it again. I hate to be harsh because I am a nice person but please do some research and find new topics to talk about....so our eyes don't have to bleed anymore.

Actually, what makes them so dead is the fact that these topics are used every day. It is getting quite annoying, and making blog posts all that much harder to read. Like I tell a lot of newbies, read and get an idea of what's been done too much. Just to rattle off a few: a friend-friend fight, how gays are okay/or wrong, the war in Iraq, some random incident that has nothing to do with ProgressiveU, immigration, elections, etc.
Please people, get original! I know it's hard and it becomes a system of trial and error to think out of the box, but it will repay you in the long run!

You can write about these topics and make them different. so you my friend have nothing to worry about! You write well and can present different arguements. People are presenting the same arguement but in a different style and it is boring. You have nothing to worry about!

I think that some of the "dead topics" as you call them are good to write about, because there will always be people that are willing to argue about them. But whatever. Some topics will always be interesting when they are discussed, but maybe that's just me. Also, the site sorta encourages the same topic to be discussed over and over again - as it has the "topic of the week" feature and all.
Many times, however, they are the same arguments just repeated over and over again. I like to try and do a search of a topic I am thinking about writing about before I post a blog entry. Of course, by doing this, I tend to comment more and blog less.....
And yet, there are many topics of the week, and many topics in the past that have not been written about. Plus, hardly anyone writes about the Topic of the week while it's up.

I didn't realize how bad this was until I looked in the recent post titles just now. I am guessing the the "recent blog posts" list is all of the blogs as the come in. I usually look at this list and click on something with an interesting title.......unfortunately, not many existed since most of them were the "dead topics" listed above.

...as a parody, do you mean? Hmmm...I could probably do that, but then it would just turn back into the classic rant "Stop using these topics, Introduce some originality into your blogs"...which is, in itself, a dead topic. Maybe if I can find an original spin to it, I'll try it out.

Mind Control is Easier Than You Think
I write about things that are different, my last post being about MLK being wiretapped by the FBI. Now how many blogs were written about that? None that I have seen. And nobody commented. The reason these dead topics aren't dying already is that people can argue about them more easily. I wish it wasn't the case though. :[
