I am a new member to this site. In the first two hours as a new member, I was a little confused in regards of what message my blog entries should contain. I surfed around this site and read a couple of blogs posted by young folks in order to orientate myself. I subscribed to this web site expecting a chance to win a scholarship. What I found was more than a chance at help with tuition, but an eye-opening entry.

The blog I read inspired me to become proactive and to value my life. Truth is that none of us our granted a perfect life. This is the real world; we will encounter negative experiences. Nevertheless, we have to rise above those negative experiences and become greater. As a friend once said, "Good people are people who deal with bad things in their lives but still remain good, bad people are people who get good things and make nothing of it". .

I have lived in small studio for the most part of my life. I do posses neither a perfect I.Q nor an ideal job. I push myself to do all that I can to help my parents and myself maintain my education. I try to make the most of opportunities and the things that I have. I have challenged myself to become a greater individual. My ultimate goal is to better myself to better the life quality of others.

I am proud to say that I was born in Mexican territory. Last week I applied to become a citizen of the United States. I hope that once naturalized I will go onto the Peace Corps. It is my wish to use my skills and heart to help others in need. Good things may not come to good people with facilitation or at all. Knowing that I have changed the life of one person for the better is enough of a reward for me.
