All good things come to an end. In fact, everything comes to an and sooner or later. This includes the world's natural resources. People have generally been getting lazier and lazier as the years have gone on. I recently found out that my high school used to recycle, but recently discontinued it because the students were too neglectful to even try to separate their garbage from their recyclables. They couldn't take twenty seconds to separate their drink cans from their general garbage. If everyone were to help out, even just a little bit, it would most certainly do the world some good.
It seems that as gas prices get higher, Americans' cars are getting bigger and bigger. People are definitely aware of global warming, but generally aren't concerned about it. "It's not my problem," they say. Even if they aren't directly affected by global warming, they should still show some appreciation for the human race in the future. I read that if we do not change the way we consume oil, the sea level will rise between twenty and thirty-five feet in the next fifty years. I don't know about you, but being a Long Islander, I'll be residing underwater in fifty years.
Most people think that since they're only one person out of nearly six billion, that their actions won't make a difference. One person probably won't. But if everyone, or nearly everyone tried just a bit harder, I think we might be able to get something accomplished.
