Vague

I know I have posted several posts on this topic already, but I have a new theory. The best way to get read on your post based on the title is too have as vague and mysterious title as possible. This makes the reader curious about what the post is about and they click the post. The reader will probably read a few lines and then leave, and then a few will stay if they are interested. For example, a some people will leave this post after finding out that this post is about post titles. The point of this is to get as many "reads" as this site defines them as possible.

Well, that seems true, but the posts that are getting a lot of hits are those that are being referenced elsewhere. You might get 100 hits from something called "Vague," for instance, but something that is timely will generate a lot more interest.

Also, well-written, complicated posts tend to grow over time. I wrote a post on sex education that has been slowly creeping up in the hits (started slow, but now almost 700). I'd imagine that people have been spreading the article since it's nearly 10 pages long and researched in scholarly journals.
