Making a point, or a waste of time?

I was riding in the car today on the way home from the mall with my mom. We were listentning to Polotics Talk Radio, and an election update came on. The women on the radio informed us that George W. H. Bush has decided to back John McCain in the race for the Republican nomination.

Big surprise there. Its not like he was about to back someone from the Democratic party. And why would a man whoes name means so much in the Republican party back a canditate so far behind in the polls?

I don't see why Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul don't just throw in the towel and call it a day.I could see them staying in the race if they were close. But this race is already done for the Republican party. There are only fifteen state caucuses left to go, and both Paul and Huckabee are lagging in the race. Paul exceptionally furthure behind Huckabee admitadly. Are they running to make a point, or are they wasteing their time?

For Huckabee to take the race from behind, he would need to gain six hundred and fourteen delegates, and hope that McCain stays at his eight hundred and thirty. Paul doesn't even have a chance anymore. The Ron Paul Reveloution went up in flames, lets let it die with some dignity. For him to even have a chance he would have to pull eight hundred and fifteen delegates out of his ass, and hold McCain and Huckabee at their current count.

As a devote Democrat I can't say that i really care particulary for any of the Republican candidates. But if McCain did win the nomonation, and the Presidency, I can't say that i would be all that disapointed. The top reason, he can't possibly be as bad as George W. Bush. And McCain is an extremely left winged republican. He might as well be a democrat. A Lot or republicans don't like him because of his views, especially his pro-choice views, but then again i think his six hundred some odd delegate lead shows that some people like him. And if he does win the presidency who knows, maybe he'll be a national sized Charlie Crist.

Huckabee and Ron Paul should just quit! I agree! Ron Paul is way too radical to where he's just crazy. And Huckabee is NOT a good candidate! He's a hypocrite and too weak to run this country!
