Persecuted for Jesus

A lot of people avoid the subject of "religion" due to the number of toes that could get stepped on. I am not one of those people. I was raised in a Christian home. I believe in Jesus Christ, and for that I am hated and persecuted daily at school or any circumstance in which i am asked my religious opinion. People believe that because I am a Christian that I must hate homosexuals, black people, jewish people you name it. This is not true. But, I am constantly stereotyped because of my religion. My fair weather friends actually try to make me deny Jesus. They joke about going to hell and what a party it will be and continue to flaunt there wild lifestyles in front of me. This hurts more than anything. I have never done the things they are doing but, I am labeled a whore. This "label" distracts watcher byers from me, due to the simple fact that that nickname was given to me(not earned). I do not understand the extreme hate for Christians these days, even though God said "..in the last days you will be persecuted for my namesake.." He is coming soon. He is just waiting for that one last person to get to know him. I guess thats all I have to say for now.

While I don't agree with being persecuted for one's religion (or immediately judged for that matter), perhaps your apocalyptic quotes are what makes others uncomfortable. I also think it's strange that you're labeled a whore if you don't act like one at all in any way. If you don't like the label and it's because of your fair-weather friends, perhaps you should friends that are more reliable and you would actually enjoy hanging out with.

these are the type of people you choose to hang out with
if they are ignorant- you should find new friends who are educated enough not to stereotype
honestly i'm suprised to read you get stereotyped
what i thought of after reading your blog was- your friends and some of the people you know like making fun of religion and they like to take make stupid jokes because you might not do some of the things they do because you have faith and religious restrictions and beliefs

the real negative stereotyping isn't one that is done by your friends or acquaintances
it's what people of religions that aren't large in numbers in America go through
for me- i got called suicide bomber, osama's niece, freedom hater, terrorist whore etc.
----but maybe if you clarified a bit more what you go through
i could understand and relate to it
