NAME: Mike Huckabee
WHO IS HE?: Republican politician, Governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007, ordained Southern Baptist minister, reknowned homophobic, and candidate for President.
WHY IS HE RUNNING?: To stomp out all the godless Mexican gay people immorality and ill-content that is ruining our nation.
WHY PEOPLE LIKE MIKE HUCKABEE: He's an outspoken conservative on social issues that get people riled up, he's a republican, and he's not John McCain.
WHY PEOPLE WOULD SWIM TO CUBA RATHER THAN LIVE IN AMERICA UNDER HUCKABEE: He's so conservative that he's almost reactionary, he makes trivializing comments about the Holocaust, he publicly compared Mormons to Satanists, he equates homosexuality with bestiality, and he wants to actively integrate religion with the government.
SOURCE OF HIS EXTREME HOMOPHOBIA?: His inability to explain away his strong attraction to Chuck Norris's manly visage, as well as Mitt Romney.
VIEWS ON THE ISSUES:
Immigration: America must do absolutely everything necessary to stop Mexicans from coming over short of planting land mines along the border, and that's only because it doesn't fit into the defense budget.
Iraq: Stay in Iraq and destroy it help them set up a stable democracy even if they don't want one by sending more troops over until all the oil is gone victory is achieved.
Guantanamo Bay: Guantanamo is more symbolic than it is a real issue because people perceive mistreatment there "when in fact there are extraordinary means being taken to make sure detainees are being given every consideration". Plus, it's not like the CIA admitted to torturing people.
Economy: Add two lanes of highway from Bangor all the way to Miami on I-95. That'll create jobs, use American steel, and boost the economy. What do you mean, there's no money left in the federal budget for infrastructure projects?
Abortion: Abortion is MURDER and anyone who is pro-choice is a GODLESS AMERICAN who should be KILLED.
Health Care: Our health care system is only failing because people are unhealthy. I advocate encouraging people to be more healthy to avoid dealing with a flawed system.
Civil unions and gay marriage: Homosexuality is UNNATURAL and INNATELY SINFUL and we must prevent it or face HEAVEN'S RETRIBUTION AND DOOM.
Everything else: We keep the guns. How else are we supposed to shoot those we don't agree with protect ourselves?
WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR MIKE HUCKABEE:

You know that might hurt a little. I must say I agree though (although I might try to pick an alternate self-punishment...possibly cutting off my ear Van-Gogh style).
Luckily as much as America thinks it wants moral superiority, it is not yet ready for uber-conservatism. But as we study in one of my history classes, society has been through too much conservatism (little c, not big political c) in the 80s and 90s. After a bout of such societal thinking there tends to be a minor rebellion that leads to a massive over zealous extremist type view on such conservatism that eventually turns into the 60s/70s.
Can you imagine an uber-hippie phase? My professor thinks we might just be heading to one.

I strongly dislike religious zealots. Boo Huckabee. The only person I hate more than him... is Hilary. Although they might be on par. That would be a really crappy election. Thank goodness it's never going to happen.

I'm from New York State. Hilary is a leech. Besides that, she's a socialist. I'm so against Universal Health Care you could probably label me "crazy zealot." She's also slimier than a used care salesman. The woman reeks. There's claims of sexual harassment directed at her and her husband that she's never denied or addressed. She has said she won't campaign in upstate New York even though the voters here carried her to the Senate. She lied about not bidding for the White House to get to the Senate. She has used tainted and laundered money for her campaign. Her marriage is a sham, and she allowed herself to be publicly humiliated without repercussion towards Bill.
There is no level to how low she will sink in order to be President. More than half the time, I have no idea where she stands on any issue, because she'll say anything to get votes. She didn't decide she was against driver's licenses for illegal immigrants until Spitzer withdrew it, and then she said, "against" even though as Senator she should have publicly proclaimed her position weeks before.
I'm embarrassed to be a woman whenever her name is mentioned in conjunction with the phrase, "the First Woman President."
There's sexual harrassment claims against her? WHY is this not what the media is saying? I didn't realize just how much she said things just for votes for a long time, but she IS slimy. *shudders*

I'm against UHC because my mother has type IV brain cancer. In a socialized medical world, she would have died before she could even get an MRI. Instead, she received an MRI within a day of going to her doctor for "sinus headaches" and surgery from the best brain surgeon on the East Cost (Dr. Patrick Kelly at NYU saved her life).
Thank goodness for the best health care system in the world. Private health care system funds research for better drugs, technology, and techniques. People come from all over the world to pay out-of-pocket for our medical care. Don't you think that's worth paying a little extra for?

Obama doesn't claim he will enforce true UHC. He's aware that there are 15 million people in the US that choose not to have health care. However, the main difference is that Obama's plan will cost the taxpayers $102 billion, whereas Hilary Care would cost $124 billion. Neither one sounds too appealing to me - especially because the government managing our health care will be the same one that f*cked up our social security.
I highly doubt the US will ever get UHC, because of people like me who see the folly in it and will campaign heavily against it. If it ever seemed probable, I would create websites, march in the streets, SPAM forums, and generally harass people into realizing the stupidity of UHC.
The United States is a combination of a republic and a democracy, therefore by nature it's not socialist and in my opinion the government should not be handling public welfare. A privatized system that is less government-mandated and more controlled by the citizens would most likely be more effective then what we have now, which is a corrupt, ridiculously subsidized and government-assisted system that is ineffective at distributing medical care to the folks who can't afford it. Bureaucracy is expensive.
Good for you. It's a comfort that there are still people who know enough about certain things and politically active enough to get things done.
I understand your stance on Universal Healthcare based on the situation you have described with regard to your mother.
My question for you is this, how do you propose that America takes care of those who cannot afford insurance? The insurance that SOME of them are eligible for from the government results in them having to spend an entire day for things like doctor appointments and even to get prescriptions filled and those who do not qualify have no choice but to go without.
I was also curious what kind of insurance your mother is covered under? Does she have a really good job with really good benefits?

I haven't like her for a VERY long time. First off, I have no respect for her lack of attention to the whole scandal against her husband. I can only guess that is because she is dried up and hasn't had sex with him in so long so forgets why it matters.
But my main actually backed reason for not liking her was in a speech I saw televised back before she was up for president or the idea of her running for president was even a possibility (post-Clinton, pre-2004 I believe). I recollect the speech had to do with Social Security reform and privatization. My position on the subject was undecided at the time so it was not her position that offended me. Basically her stance was that we needed to privatize social security because Americans were too irresponsible to save for themselves. Now I agree that many Americans are headed to a world of hurt because of their lack of planning ahead, but I was offended by her stance that she had the right to force decisions on others. She was under the impression that Americans had no right to make their own decision about savings because she knew better. I am against anyone who believes invading my personal decisions is acceptable.
P.S. If anyone can recall the exact speech I am thinking of magically back when Senator Clinton was discussing such matters I would love a transcript for future reference to show everyone exactly which speech I am referring to. Thanks!

I'm not for Huckabee, but I'm 100% sure he does not wish to kill pro-choice people. He believes abortion is wrong (because it is), so sue him.
