I woke up this morning and the birds (namely Sparrows) were chirping loud outside next to my window and the dogs were outside messing around and I could hear them listening to all the birds chirping and next thing I know, one of them picks up the squeaky toy and starts squeaking it to the sounds of the birds chirping!!!! LOL! EVIDENCE OF EVOLUTION! The dog is trying to relate to the birds so he/she uses an instrument to get a sound closer to what they make. I call this evolution because it shows that the dog is so desperate to communicate with this other species that he/she pics a toy, or item, close by that can similate the noise. Then he/she waits for a period to get a response. Once the system seemed to work, the dog got excited and started dancing aroudn, much in teh same way that the bird did when he/she flapped his wings and flew off.
All I could think was; the next thing you know they are going to be making whiney sounds (that high pitched noise they make when they are adamantly trying to get something to happen) that resemble to patterns that the birds are making. I wouldn't be surprised if they began to realize that the sound is similar being that they could recognize the sound of the squeeky toy as being such a similar noise.
Of course, it doesn't surprise me because I know that the dogs also try as hard as they can to communicate with their human counterparts. Its a part of their survival. Given that, it's natural for them to try ad earn to communicate with another species.
WOW!!! Evolution, by definition!!!!
Love you lots,
