Gays and Their Rights , Not even equal in God's eyes

morrowc333's picture

Today more people are coming out of the closet today compared to past generations. Why is this? Is our world becoming more accepting and less condescending? God it appears it is and I am not going to stand for this. At what point do you say enough is enough? Gay couples now want to be married as if there is nothing wrong with how they are living. Id rather do anything else, before I witness such an event. God made males and females to produce with each other, and the church has even gone as far to commit it as a sin in their books. So why do we let it occur.

The great debate has always been well, they did not do anything that hurts you, so leave them be. Okay thats fine, but if thats the case then do not let them give them the same tax returns my parents get. They are of a lower class period. They do not deserve this tax break, do not deserve to be wed, and do not deserve to hold as high of paying jobs of heterosexuals. On top of that any straight person standing next to one of them of the same sex just feels weird.

Thus is the case on my football team. Two guys, neither who has straight (haha) come out of the closet but both have been rumored to be such. They have sent each other text messages and roomed in the same dorm during team camp. GROSS. This is just messed up. I can not stand showering next to them, because the whole time Im thinking to myself "Don't look at me, don't think about me, don't talk to me, and do not ever associate with me." Now do not get me wrong before I knew this fact I thought they were one was a good person and still do, but I will never be alone with them, or even talk to them one on one. I do not want to be associated with them, because they could become attracted to me. Not only does this make it awkward to be around them, but they have fewer and fewer friends.

Many people would say well, its not their choice, but I disagree. You can choose to be gay or you can choose to straight , just as like you pick out what to wear in the morning. Its the people who like to live on the wild side, the curious side, the Im just never gonna get that hot girl side, that choose the first choice. And for this reason I do not think they should be allowed to marry.

I'm guessing this was a satire.

Well in that case this is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read. I actually thought you wrote this as a joke because so many people have written blogs like this with absolutely no fact/statistics and nothing to back up their claims but the "holy" Bible. And too bad for you if you won't stand for gays gaining more rights. We're probably going to have the right to get married and maybe adopt children before your time on this Earth is done.

You should go join the Klan.

it's okay. I have a black gay friend.

It is amazing to read this being a lesbian and it blow my mind that all in the same breathe you can speak on something with no compassion accurate knowledge...and to think you have the nerve to use something as beautiful as God to defend your demeaning point of view.....I would love for you to respond to my post and I will love to have a conversation with you on this topic so let me express how I feel......

First and foremost the church is an setting that was created by human beings.....The laws of the Lord were created by God the Lord not the church....So if the church is to determine what is sinful and what is not we all would be mislead because lets be honest we are all sinners and we can not look to another sinner to led us to the path of salvation.....Thus the Bible is our guide not the standards that people or the church create......

Second I'm not sure if you are aware but in America all humans deserve the same rights no matter the race, ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation or creed. This idea of second class citizens reminds me of the ignorance that brought about the Civil Rights Movement........Again Christianity is the largest religion practiced but we also have a law that separates state from church.....Lets pick an idea and stick with it....Either we as a nation will base our constitution on religion or democracy their is no in-between when you have so many people from so many walks of life.....
Now this is far from a slander on America or Christianity because I myself am a Christian and I am constantly striving to have a better relationship with God for personal salvation and understanding but we have to stop picking and choosing what laws and ideas in the Bible to follow....

Third you have to also ask yourself if you are a homosexual or a homophobic.....Just because a homosexual is attracted to their own sex doesn't mean they are attracted to every male or female....I'm pretty sure you would never consider making a relationship with a Lesbian as a homosexual male has no interest in a straight male...Don't feed into stereotypes....

In conclusion think about this....Who chooses their orientation....Did you choose to be straight and if so that means you have or have had an attraction towards males....When you say someone has a choice that means they are choosing between more than one choices so what were your choices I am curious......

Truly Beautiful Truth

You better ask God to take mercy on your soul, when you see him because is it not the church you look to for guidance and strength when you need it the most. And who runs those same churches, O ya its the priests and all their colleagues. Not to mention the pope is the closest thing to god on the earth and based on what he tell us, all you homosexuals should be cast into the shadows.

Dude, ever thought that homosexuals were created for the purpose of population control?

And don't use God in this arguement, I doubt God actually hates homosexuals. What did Jesus tell you, "Love the sinner, not the sin."

morrowc333's picture

your first comment is hilarious... I wish that were the case.

Obviously the second comment is not because it shows you to be a bigot.

I am appalled by the prejudice that you have spewed in your blog. It's practically hate speech! You are saying that gays are second-class citizens and that makes you no better than the terrible racists who wrote the Jim Crow laws in the South to keep people that they thought were inferior (through no fault of their own) down. Homophobia is immature and absolutely ridiculous.

Today more people are coming out of the closet today compared to past generations. Why is this?

Simple...because we live in a (relatively) free country, and in a free country, people have the right to be different.

Is our world becoming more accepting and less condescending? God it appears it is and I am not going to stand for this. At what point do you say enough is enough?

You don't. The rights of individual citizens of the United States are not subject to your whims, nor is our society governed by your discomfort when other citizens decide to exercise their fundamental rights. If you don't like gay people, then hey...don't be gay. But, if it bothers you that other people are gay...tough. Grow up and get over it.

Gay couples now want to be married as if there is nothing wrong with how they are living.

There isn't anything wrong with how we live our lives, and the freedom to marry is a basic civil right in this country, guaranteed equally to all of our citizens. The fact, however, is that the institution isn't being equally offered, and that's a problem.

Id rather do anything else, before I witness such an event. God made males and females to produce with each other, and the church has even gone as far to commit it as a sin in their books. So why do we let it occur.

Your opinion about what "god" made "males and females" to do is just that...an opinion. And, it is an opnion which our Constitution renders irrelevant to this discussion. The First Amendment protects us from people who want to use the government as means to force their religious opinions onto others.

If only all anti-gay arguments were this honest, this issue would have been settled long ago. Our Constitution affords the same privileges and immunities to ALL of our citizens, not just the straight ones. Your frank declaration that gays "are of a lower class period" represents a sentiment that is just about as unconstitutional anything I have ever heard.

Thus is the case on my football team. Two guys, neither who has straight (haha) come out of the closet but both have been rumored to be such. They have sent each other text messages and roomed in the same dorm during team camp. GROSS. This is just messed up. I do not want to be associated with them, because they could become attracted to me. Not only does this make it awkward to be around them, but they have fewer and fewer friends.

Nothing that you said suggests that either of these guys have ever done anything to warrant your fearful reaction. It sounds to me like you're the one with the problem.

Many people would say well, its not their choice, but I disagree. You can choose to be gay or you can choose to straight , just as like you pick out what to wear in the morning. Its the people who like to live on the wild side, the curious side, the Im just never gonna get that hot girl side, that choose the first choice.

Your opinion on this matter is not well informed. And honestly, in this day and age there really is no excuse for clinging to this kind of outdated stereotype. Please educate yourself.

And for this reason I do not think they should be allowed to marry.

Well...fortunately for us, it isn't up to you, then.

I find it strange that so many people feel they have the authority to speak for God.

it's okay. I have a black gay friend.

morrowc333's picture

haha you lesbians wish...............actually im just spreadin around God's words, in which we can all be messagers of it, Not just me. I am glad that you notice of God's teaching through other people though, and yet refuse to listen to it, since so many Homosexuals feel they have the authority to ignore the rules in which God himself has set fourth. But ya know, we make you the 2nd class while you all determine since we listen to God we are only putting you there. Hate to tell you, none of us told God what to say, so the only authority we have is to spread the word the best we can.

The people who wrote the books of the Bible, Koran, Torah and every other holy book told God what to say. I know you really really believe that those words are from God, but they're not. Your rules are imaginary, like your god.

so you dont believe in god? Sounds like a cop out excuse for your actions if you ask me. You must have messed up real bad to deny god so you no longer feel guilt. I do feel your pain cause without god your nothing but an empty shell walkin earths surrface with no real purpose.

I'm not in pain. Although I'm sure you're thinking I am but I just don't know it. I do believe in God. Of course its nothing like what you believe.

Sounds like a cop out excuse for your actions if you ask me.

No. A cop out would be someone using religious beliefs as an excuse for hate. Ex. You believe gay people are sub-human and you justify your hate with religious beliefs.
