I remember watching a VH1 T.V. show called "Hip Hop Videos: Sexploitation On The Set." This show talks about how hip hop artists treat their girls who are hired to dance, shake their bodies, and to look good in music videos. It was pathetic knowing that many hip hop artists expect to have sex with these women before putting them in his music videos.
There are also music video models who came out to tell all the things they have been through. They said many of the girls in the videos become sex props for the artists and directors. Some of the video girls only audition to have sex with the artists, to get some money, to sleep with the directors, or to be on a music video, which ruin reputation for other decent music video models. Therefore, the girls in this industry divided themselves as "Music Video Girl Model" and "Music Video Girl Hoes."
Then the show asks the hip hop artists if what other video models said was true. A rapper replied, "They should keep their mouth shut." And wow, I'm starting to hate SOME Hip Hop artists even more. I never liked hip hop in the first place because of its sexist lyrics. I realized those people who listen to hip hop or rap music might be listening only to the music and not the words. But I do like some lyrics written by Kanye West and Eminem because many of their songs talk more about the world and life rather than girls and sex.
After watching the show for a while, I realized that everyone in this VH1 "Hop Hop Videos: Sexploitation On The Set" is black (I'm sorry...I didn't know how else to put it...not all of them are African American). Then I wondered if VH1 did this on purpose. Surely there are other white hip hop artists who do the same thing. Yet, why did they not include them? Are they trying to point out something about people of color? I don't know. Just a thought.

African American people dominate hip-hop, so that's who VH1 zoomed in on, but the truth is, ALL music have individuals that say stupid crap when it comes to women. Me, I don't like a lot of rap music. I like T.I. , Ludacris, and Mos Def. I like artists that speak about the truth. I hate the idiots that get a record deal and start singing about the dumbest stuff in creation. I think that people hear the beat and say "yeah this is a great song" without hearing their mothers labeled as hoes. So, I don't know. Besides, it's my belief that if a girl will take her clothes off for money, than she shouldn't get mad if she's represented as a ho. Sorry, that's just my personal opinion. However, I'm not going to get mad because that's how she chose to make her money. As long as she doesn't expect to be treated like a saint when the entire world saw her in a bra and thong, I don't have a problem. As long as people watch the videos and buy the albums, hip-hop artists aren't going to change their image. The blame is just as much the individual’s as the artist's.
~ Life can be wonderful, if you let it.
We all know some of those hoes, and they leave a bad taste in our mouths...and ruin good girl's chances...Let them ruin their lives, and if that is what these men require women should be smart enough to steer clear. Eventually these men would change their ways because a hip-hop videos without women would be blah...but also, think about the lyrics, why are we surprised?
women degrade themselves. We want to be in the videos so we do what is necessary. We want to get out of a ticket so we do what is necessarry.
Its sad but true.
Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth!~JFK
I don't believe blaming only the women is justified. The men probably provoke this behavior as well. Still, girls really don't know how to dance these days. Very sad indeed.
morals as a society so yeah everyone is to blame.
What we see in hip hop is just a reflection of the lack of morality in our nation (at least showbiz). Women degrade themselves because they see it as a "way out" of whatever situation they're in. Truthfully, they're digging themselves into a deeper mess. Both men and women are still technically animals, therefore follow sexual instincts instead of controlling themselves like civilized human beings.
I'm so glad to see there are still people out there who have morals, and principals.
It's also awesome to see girls that are not whores, and wont give into that type of life style, I'm a guy and I think it's awesome when girls don't give into all of that stuff.
If you find the right guy, he will respect you so much for having these types of ideals.
I think that one of the artists that said that those women should keep their mouths shut is saying that its true, even though he's ashamed to admit it.
Its a damn shame wat these females chose to pursue these days. Its really like this. "If you got it flaunt it". But what about your self esteem, your reputation, your image, and your influence toward others. Its really sad how many females would stoop so low to do watever they gotta do. But there are other POSITIVE ways. Like stay in school and get a damn education so you can be somebody in life. Not trickin at the corner.

I think most women who wanted to become a music video models did not anticipate the sexual activities they had to face until the moment actually came. If someone is struggle to do everyday jobs, I'm sure if she is desperate enough...she would do it anyway. But it is pathetic how some of these women would give up their pride for fame and money. It's almost like prostitution...in a bad way.

of that song and video by Game called "Wouldn't Get Far." Now I'm sorry, but the wheel can spin both ways. There's a line where he says "If you kept your legs closed." Well how bout you keep your dick in your pants? I swear, if I made a version for that song, a lot of rappers would be mad at me. Cause I'd say something like "To those rap stars with their wives at home I wrote this song just for you, don't tell us to keep our legs closed if you don't keep your dick in your pants, and if you got kids and got another on the way by some random chick you just slept with, you should've been monogamous"
I mean damn, got the nerve to get mad about Karrine Steffans telling all the dirt about the celebs she messed around with cause you know what you did is wrong. I'm sure there are plenty other video vixens with stories probably worse than Karrine's.
