heaven is the after-party, hell is the lecture

LIFE, in general, is a waste. Now, before you go crazy with your hate mail and calling me an emo and such, ask yourself.. What’s the point? You’re born, you fuck up, you do good, then you die. But while you’re alive, you have your fun, contribute your waste, smoke your cigarettes, drive your cars, build and live on land that belongs to no one, but is claimed by everyone individually, you spend your money, you earn your money and you make pointless commitments. You waste our food and you support our capitalist society. Supply and demand worsens, and then, when you die, another sorry ass comes along and does the same thing, without even bothering to clean up after you. So it just gets worse and worse until our world physically erodes away, or our atmosphere no longer exists. So why do we do what we do? Why do we continue on living pointlessly and ignorantly if we all know how we will end up? Why don’t we just walk around aimlessly, like zombies, and do nothing, so we’re guaranteed a good afterlife? If there really is such a thing, that is...
People will say, have fun while you’re here, but it’s hard to have fun when there are so many rules you might break in the process, and possibly end up going to hell or being punished for it. God loves us, and wants us to fulfill our lives and complete our goals in order for us to feel like we are complete and successful to our own terms. Whatever those terms may be. So why will god punish those he loves, for doing what they feel is right and contributive to their happiness and their contentment? Why would god put all these obstacles in our way if he knows what we will do to get through them, and he wants us in heaven anyway? If god knows everything, why did he put us on earth in the first place, he already knows how we’ll end up so why didn’t we just live in heaven or hell to begin with? Is this life just a waiting room? When he punishes us for what we’ve done while we’re living, it makes no sense to me.. a punishment is a lesson. We can’t go back and learn it if we’re already dead.
Then, if we will live eternally in heaven or hell, won’t there be no point while we’re there either? Death scares the shit out of me. It’s the most mysterious, unstable thing. What if religion is just something fabricated to keep us out of trouble? Something for us to look forward to, to stay motivated, to prevent us from thinking like this? But if there is a chance that heaven and hell exists, and I live my life to the fullest and go to heaven, there really isn’t a point there either..
And what about my friends or family that may go to hell? I want to see them in my "utter bliss." I won’t ever be fully happy without them.

What is the real point of all this? An experiment? Why?

I guess it wouldn’t hurt to just live and pretend that our lives have reason. If I think that way it will keep me alive at least. And why not live well and learn while you’re at it? If I live my life how I plan, and I complete the goals I set for myself, by the time I die, I will probably be less scared of it as it comes closer. I need to change the world. I need to. I need to be remembered and recognized for something I did here. And if I don’t complete what I have planned, or fulfill my beliefs for the outcome of this society, at least I can hopefully motivate someone else to continue. If there is any chance of an afterlife, I’d rather be happy than eternally live in agony and pain. So why not just live my faith? I don’t lose much, and for what it’s worth, it’s not that difficult at all. It still makes no sense to me as to why we try so hard to live above average. Maslows hierarchy of needs is all any human being needs to feel complete. In a nutshell. Why do we need all these toys and materialistic, glimmering things to show off? We don’t. Really we can live without them, and to me, living, existing at all is living happily, as long as you’ve fulfilled the pyramid, and depending on where you are on that pyramid, as long as you can get to the next highest step.
Why do we make everything so difficult? Life is so simple that it’s complicated. We make it that way! And we do it because we have nothing else to do. There is no meaning of life. NONE. So what? God is enjoying the shit out of himself up there watching. So let him, and have fun showing yourself off. He is the greatest playwright of all time. Ever. So let’s act.

This blog is somewhat bleak, but regardless it is technically true, depending on whether or not you believe in god. If you don't, then there is nothing other than pure luck that we are here, and with that, there is really no reason we are here besides the nature of living things to continue living. The problem is, if we keep dwelling on this, we will never be happy with anything. Even if there is no point in living, you still have to live (unless you choose to take your own life) so we might as well make the best of it.
As humans, we seem to like things in general (which is why we are so materialistic) and the whole keeping up with the jones's thing is ever prevalent in our society. Having more things makes us happy, and without any other purpose on this earth but to live, we might as well be happy while doing it.

Death scares the shit outta me too. I am not a believer in any higher being, or afterlife, so I really don't know what happens. I really wish i could put my faith in a heaven and hell, but i just can't, so I have to ignore the fact that i'm going to die eventually until it comes around. Lucky for me, I won't have to deal with having to deal for long once the problem arises
