Okay everyone deals with the high school teachers, boring dances, and the clicks. Does everyone know about the politics that go on during our high school years???? I spent close to 15 minutes just to search for something that is happening in the news, some weird event or something. But then I realize that it is better to write about something that I have dealt with for the last 3 years of my life, Hish school and the same student council president. I have realize that High school is just some popularity contest over who is the smartest person, coolest car, or the fabled cheerleader/drama queen tryouts. I could never figure out why someone would want to go through that. I see that even the teachers have some type of popularity contest to get the smartest and coolest kids in their class. I walk past loud classrooms to see half of the class is the most popular kids in the school. Then the school dances for homecoming and prom court. I did a test and put my name for prom court. Nothing has happened, the most popular kids will be on there. I can know that the "real world" will be the same way though. You or any one that doesn't get the biggest office or high paying job will be a mr. or miss. nobody and everyone else will be a somebody. How does that make you feel know, I know before that I can't wait to get out of high school. Now after reading some things on high school I want to stay just alittle bit longer.
If everyone can find a way to destroy the high school politics then what would high school be anyway. Every high school has their queen bees and kings of the feild. What would high school be without them.... Maybe a paridise waiting to happen or a total chaos. I know from my tiny 3 years of high school that even with the high school drama and the popularity contest that I have never formed more closer relationships then I have in High School. My little town nothing happens unless it happens in High school. Everyone has told me that the last year of their high school is the easiest since as a senior you can do anything. For me it will be the hardest since I would never imagin that I will leave the teachers that I have had for every year or the friends that I made. It is hard to realize that you are actually going to leave something that has controlled your life for the last 18 to 19 years of your life to something that will be the exactly the same. Maybe it is better to become a teacher so you'll never leave.

Like the song "High School Never Ends". It's all a popularity contest it seems! Only in the real world it's celebrities for the "populars and drama queens", sports stars and the "jocks" and so forth.
Damn...
I live in a small town too, and I agree that anything remotely interesting happens in high school. At times I think that if cliques were eliminated, then high school would be a better place, but then I realize that we would all be cheated out of more life experience.
yeah, yeah. the schoolboards have political interests. nothing new.

ummm I don't think it's all a popularity contest here. I go to a huge high school in an even huger city and as hard as it is to believe...we don't have a clique problem...I'm in debate and speech, yet I have friends in band, choir, cheer leading, every sport imaginable, on academic teams, in the top thirty, at the bottom of the class...the list goes on...I don't think it's a popularity contest until you view it as that...b/c in my opinion and experience...it doesn't matter who you are...it's what you make it.
