Why is school so cold??

Tagged:

I live in the Seattle area and we have had some really cold weather all of the sudden.  Its usually around 45-50 degrees in the morning during October and November.  This morning I got in my car to go to school and it said 23 degrees!!  Not even cool.  I was freezing all day long because our school heaters havent adjusted to the cold snap yet.  I had a leather jacket on over a sweatshirt and I was freezing until about 12:30 pm...  Crazyness!  I love winter, but not when it is 23 degrees on Halloween...  If its this cold now, I worry how it is going to be in January and February.  Those months are usually the coldest and have the worst weather around here...  Is anyone having a cold snap right about now, or is the northwest just crazy??

We've been having one here as well, and I'm in Arkansas. It was in the 100s one day and the next it was freezing freaking cold out. Okay, maybe not over night... but definitely within a week the weather took a very drastic turn and has been cold every since.

It was actually kind of warm today here in Maryland... but the weather has been kind of bipolar lately. Just a few days ago the temp didn't go up past 60.

At my school, our air conditioning is broke, along with the heater. Its an odd ordeal because when you go to school in the summer/spring you will want to wear long sleeves because the air conditioning will be full blast. Also, if you want to be comfortable in the winter time, you have to wear shortsleeves because the heat is on so high you nearly suffocate. I totally understand where you are coming from. I really think that schools aren't regulating these things very well.

Hmmm... here in Minnesota we had a cold snap today. Well, last night, it suddenly got windy and cold... and it was cold all day today, colder than normal I'd say. And it's was shocking because we had a really warm day for October yesterday.

I don't know about you guys, but when I'm warm I want to sleep. I think a lot of teachers open their windows even when its very cold to keep their students awake. A lot of times when I'm getting ready and I am very tired, I choose a light t shirt to wear so that I will be fairly cool and do such helps me not to fall asleep in class.
