Politics/ Idiocy

There's a reason politics is one topic not to be discussed "at the dinner table," but for me, there's a reason why I want to avoid the topic of politics in general. This is due mainly in part by the fact that I have a skewed perspective when it comes to "important matters in life." Hey, at least I admit it, that's why I'd be more comfortable representing life through a fictional story instead of trying to find people to follow my views on government. Another thing I am willing to admit is that I don't vote. This raises the hairs of almost everyone because they immediately think I'm some slouch or heartless person who doesn't care what happens to his country. Fortunately and unfortunately, this view is only slightly if not half true. See, I can really care less about government in general because my conscience does fair well knowing I contributed to a human power who controls my life. However, I care about what goes on around me: I care about my friends, family, the tragedies of the world, starving children, the homeless, ophins, etc. Government is not some holy grale that can solve all the world's problems, the fact of thinking that problems are solveable in this world is an all together stupid notion. Problems will always be here as much as solutions will always be here. We all have the choice to either deal with it or not.

Anyway, there's probably some wonder as to why I would write this blog about politics when I care very little about government. Well, the plan is to get my political views in the clear, so I don't have to talk about it again. However, I know something else is going to erk me to write my opinion about something else dealing with politics.

So, here it is: I believe that this political separation between liberals and conservatives is an idiotic, if not hillarious, concept. These two extremes, no matter how many times we like to believe so, do not exist or do not have any bases for anyone's existence. Why? Because these categories state the very failure that's happening in our society: we're either one or the other. We are so caught up in thinking we are part of a collective of different groups that we are pulling each other apart more and more without anything to show for it. Conservatives are idiots for thinking they know what's right; liberals are idiots for believing in "right" ideals of humanity. They both make the same mistake of thinking each other as enemies when they are just two sides of the same coin. They both see things in black and white, or red and blue: Conservatives think liberals are too immoral; liberals think conservatives uncultured, unevolved, dumb, and narrow minded. This is just not a valid way of thinking because we're all different and we all have different opinions.

If we honestly thought within these standards of singular view points then how do people have friends? I sure don't agree with my friends on everything, but I don't base my friendship with people by how much I agree or disagree with them. Well, if friendships don't work like this, then families must have a singular standard, right? Wrong. If anything, family is never a sure thing, especially this day and age. A parent can try to raise a child a certain way, but we all know that there are no certainties regarding what that kid is going to do or think once they reach a time where they're becoming more adult and figure out life for themselves. Our biggest problem in the world, which has been going on for who knows how long, is not the person on the oposite end of the political spectrum: it's more our struggle to live with eachother; a problem politics will never solve.

I can't stand the liberal/conservative fight. Even though I wouldn't really consider myself either, I get so offended when I hear some talk radio host yell at someone and call them a liberal. Political views have nothing to do with your moral character; your opinions and how you vote (or don't vote, as the case may be; I think voting without a true knowledge is very dangerous) may reflect your morals, but they do not decide them! Just because I don't like those talk radio hosts doesn't mean I hate conservatives; it just means I don't like that particular person because he is encouraging hatred among people which is a huge crime to humanity. I wish people would just separate politics from their opinions of people and try to work together to form a better government.
