It's not easy being a teen!

People sometimes think that being a teenager is easy. They get to hang out with their friends and party all the time but that's not all the characteristics of being a teen. Today's teens endure many things. They have to deal with family problems, school, friendships, and most importantly, PEER PRESSURE. During the teen years, teenagers figure out just who they are and they may not learn that in a day. They might learn who they are by doing something wrong like trying to fit in with their peers by doing risky things such has drinking, doing drugs and even having sex. Alot of teens go through a stage of depression and a need of acceptance. All this is a part of growing up but teens shouldn't have to go through this alone. Teens hide their feelings from their parents sometimes because they don't think they will understand. Being a teen isn't easy. It's very stressful. That's why many teens commit suicide. They don't know how to handle their problems and they don't know how to deal with peer pressure. Parents need to understand this and realize that their teen could be enduring many complicated things and they might need to talk about it but they don't know how to reach out to their parents. Parents should be more concerned about their teenage son/daughter because they could be so stressed out or they might need a confidence booster. We teens deal with some of our own issues and we aren't always happy. So next time you see a depressed teenager, talk to them because it's not easy being a teen.

I'd say that this is a pretty generic, general statement, but it's still true for the most part.

Thank you so much! I am so happy that I inspired you. I like to inspire people and it makes me feel very good to see how the little things a person does can make a change in someone and inspire them. And to think that at one time, I thought this blog was useless because only one person made a comment.

finaly some who knows how hard it is for us espeacily rite after high school and tryin to get your collage info and everything can be stress full iam goin through that rite now

I had a hard time talking to my parents for fear that they'd overreact. Not because they didn't need to, I was doing some things that maybe they should have over reacted about, and still am working on them. My main fear is they would take the things that I had a very precarious hold on and take away my control over those things. I wish I could come talk to them in confidence but I didn't want them to be depressed because I was.

i agree, that sterotype is something people see on tv but is no more true than any other sterotype. Being a teen is one of the hardest times in your life, while you have more financial stability, you have far less emotionally stability than adults.

But remember that when we grow up I'm sure we will be wishing to be a teen again.

"Why do you fear what is nothing more than you? Do you not know that you could never fail?"

oops

"Why do you fear what is nothing more than you? Do you not know that you could never fail?"

That's exactly it. My biggest fear is judgement, from my parents and my peers. I want to be myself, but I'm not sure how accepting people would be. I want to talk about what's going on, but "How was your day?" and "What's wrong?" are not the kind of questions to reach out. They're too automatic.
Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
