How is Barack Obama like a handbag?
He's stylish and looks good on your arm.
Considering the flack she caught for this statement:
"I'm a big fan of accessories, I'm married to one."
Michelle Obama may have been better off with my joke. The talking heads on the cable news channels went on about this one for a while, but seem to have dropped it for the people of Pennsylvania being bitter quote. They completely misconstrued the quote, even going so far as to suggest that she meant a criminal accessory. I giggled the first time I heard it and began formulating the opening joke. It was quite obviously a joke, the light hearted self effacing kind which many public speakers employ. If someone hadn't been looking for it the joke would have already faded into obscurity.
Maybe it is that I'm just finally old enough to notice, but I see lots to misinterpretations. It seems like there are staffers sitting at their computers watching C-SPAN, waiting for something they can cut into a sound bite which might embarrass the other campaign. I get kicks out of The Daily Show doing it, but as infighting among the Democrats it worries me.
Is anyone else sick of this infighting? Attacking Mrs. Obama for this quote seems to show that the Clinton camp is stooping to a new low.
No matter what people in the spotlight will constantly be catching flak for things they do or say. It's what keeps the media going...
As far as Clinton goes, her peeps will feed off anything possible to try to keep the hope of her getting into office alive.
Clinton's hypocrisy on issues, especially those regarding NAFTA, are incredible. Recently Keith Olbermann accused her of Republiconic attacks. You know, anything to stay in the race.
