I thought this was interesting. I love hearing from those with legal experience. And our own attorney general still defends it? Well, he is the man who justified torture...

Ouch. President Carter, a man who SHOULD know what he's talking about in regards to the FISA act, doesn't believe Bush is within the law to do it.
I don't know if I want this to go to the Supreme Court or not. On the one hand, I don't see how they could possibly justify it, on the other hand, another partisan decision from a newly stacked court ould set a TERRIBLE legal precedent if they refused to condemn it. And would the administration even cooperate with the court? We've already seen how they love to withhold things, and rearrange and misarchive them(allegedly) and we've already seen that they have few reasons to be honest.
The more justifications for NSA spying that I hear, the more I wonder if ANY of them have ever read our Constitution to know what they are violating.

GAH, with a stacked Court as this one, I wouldnt want to see it get within 2 miles of the building.
Bush gets ANOTHER PASS? Lied about Iraq, won't talk to Cindy, allows Able Danger data to be destroyed, has e-mails from his offices purged of Plame culpability.
I want to ask Republicans "How long will you permit this charade to persist? Are you not cognizant of the fact Gonzalez is disengenuous?
Or lying outright? How many will die in Iraq? How long will the illegal Patriot Act be salved into a birth of new half-lives, continually eroding the First and Fourth, and Eighth?"
Our country is being bled to constitutional death by subversive forces who have something other than a constitutional democracy in mind for us going forward.
And you should all be frightened to death about the Google issue, because Bush simply wants to blackmail America into shutting our mouths about him. Who would come forward after seeing the undoing of Plame, knowing Bush has EVERYONE'S browsing history at the disposal of his subversive NSA machinery.
Bush is truly the enemy of ALL, including Republicans. Figure it out, and soon.
It is VERY shocking.
I keep on thinking about how when we ratified our constitution, many states were concerned about THESE VERY ISSUES, of privacy and rights, and refused to ratify unless a bill of rights was added. Once we agreed to add the Bill of Rights, it passed.
And now they want to take all of them away from the American people?
who wouldnt get a pass when shit like the past 2 elections happens.
The past two elections were ridiculous, but I never would have guessed it had been this bad!
when one man can sway half the country based on fear alone, nothing surprises me anymore.
Did he sway half the country? Or did the machines just tally it as such in enough areas to win?
I am aganist the NSA, but Carter is a horrible president. Carter is the same man who said Hamas is not a terrorist organization. Either way NSA is illegal, but we shouldnt need someone to tell us that, just look at how it is being used now. Look at the way it was used during the Clinton years, a big difference. Clinton used it aganist people calling from other nations, Bush used it aganist people from our own nation.
Carter said that? When, where? Put up a link to that specific statement.
(http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0602/20/sitroom.01.html )Heres were he defends Hamas even though he admits it has terrorist back ground, the transcript is from CNN.com Heres a article from the Jewish times talking about supposed racism, he did a while back( note this source is unreliable but its intresting) http://www.jewishworldreview.com/julia/gorin.php3 Here is a more reliable article on what Jimmy carter thinks as well. Note how ignores the other side of the debate and forgets about Hamas's past so quickly (forgives would be a better word. (http://www.iht.com/bin/print_ipub.php?)
