Perhaps I have been watching too much television but, it seems that America wants to give up many of her freedoms and be imprisoned under European style socialism. Obama and Clinton try telling their socialist message by telling us we have a health care crisis. They tell us that we are in a recession and they need to take oil company profits to fund alternate energy projects. There is no health care crisis, we are not in a recession, and redistribution of wealth is never the answer.
I don’t want socialism. There was a time when we stood toe-to-toe against Soviet Socialists and won. Americans have a fighting spirit to be independent that is being crushed by the media and far left Democrats. We need to stand up against these politicians that want to make us their ‘victims’ and control us. No one should vote for someone if they believe that politician will have a personal impact on their life.
It makes me sick to watch these town hall meetings when some single parent stands up asks Obama or Clinton something like
“With health care costs increasing, how am I going to pay for my daughter’s braces? As President what are you going to do to insure my daughter’s straight teeth?”
It is sad that so many people are looking to pass responsibility on to elected officials. Don’t be a victim. Stand up and have some self respect and take care of things yourself. The more power you give to the politicians is less power you have for yourself. Do you really want them having anymore control over you? The government tells business owners they cannot allow people to smoke in their own business. They tell everyone to where their seatbelt other wise you have to pay a ticket. You have to pay a fee for not taking care of yourself. Things are bad enough.
I can only hope there is still a silent majority of hard working self-reliant Americans that will bring back conservatism.

i dont think most people know this but the way a democratic canidate makes it onto the ticket is through the super delegates of the democratic party, the do have a mominating convention, but if people vote clinton and the delegates vote obama, obam becomes the presidential nominee
and just so you know we kind of are in a recession, you cant deny those facts
"the Democratic way is the Communist way"
As somewhat of a libertarian myself, I completely know where you're coming from. I think there should be minimum government involvment in our lives, yet I do think it is part of the government's job to ensure that everyone has medical care, in some way, not neccissarily socialism. That being said, if the majority of Americans disagree and want a socialist govenment, so be it. It's how our democracy works. There are undeniable benifits and downsides.
I think it's funny how you mentioned both smoking and seatbelts as examples because I recently wrote blogs about each issue:
