A question before beginnning (which will, in fact, signify the beginning): how necessary is conceit to blogging? I have just wasted several hours of my life musing on the fact that, despite what I consider a reasonably good education and at least partially formed personal opinions, I could think of nothing to blog on. All topics considered were discarded because of either banality or my own lack of sufficient knowledge. So tell me, my now fellow bloggers, what is required to blog, if not some initial belief in your own ability to accurately express interesting ideas?
I would like to add that I am convinced the only reason this will go to post is that I am finishing it at approximately 3 in the morning, when my internal system of checks and balances is on leave. In all honesty, if I discover it is possible to delete posts, this one is unlikely to survive very long.

For me, at least, I tend to blog on things of which I am knowledgeable and have a passion for.
most of my blog's posts involve education on the reality of firearms, to off-set the propaganda that our kids are taught in schools, and led to believe through the media.
It is something I have a bit of knowledge about and also a passion for.
So, I would say that knowledge and passion are key. but also the ability to articulate your point of view and a willingness to challenge/counter the opposing point of view.
I stopped writing blogs because everyone else's is better than mine : )
Heh, don't stop. Sometimes the one who best benefits from writing is the writer.
