I would hate to be president; to be under so much scrutiny. One minute, the public loves you, and the next they hate you. Everyone blames you for the problems with the beaurocracy/democracy and all the other "-ocracies". You make one choice that can't be undone, and at first the public backs you on it and supports it. Then people start dying, and reality sets in, and the decision you made seems like a lost cause. That's when the public starts to turn. You become the target for everyone's blame.
My goodness. I sympathise for Bush. I don't agree with his decision to go to war, and I'm really against war, but at the same time, I'm not gonna bash him for making a decision that he, and most of the public, thought was a good idea at the time. The world is full of freakin hypocrites. Some of the same people who once supported Bush now slam him just because everyone else has a problem with him.
When I was in 5th grade, the Bush/Gore elections were going on. Back then, I wanted Bush to win because, frankly, I thought Gore was icky and creepy looking. Hey, I was a kid for pete's sake! Gimme a break!
But now, almost eight years later, I wish that Gore HAD been chosen. He really pressed the issue of Global Warming, and he wanted to do something about it. Now, here we are, eight years later... and we should have listened to him. The earth is in bad shape, and we're not really doing much to help it. How much longer is the world going to last before it finally retaliates against us, making it inhabitable? The thought scares me.
I had to watch The Inconvenient Truth last year in my Journalism class. It was a real eye opener. Although I don't remember much of the information now, (I only saw it once and I haven't seen it since then) I think that if Gore had put this movie out eight years ago, he might have had a better chance at being elected. Global Warming wasn't considered that big of an issue back then, but NOW we're starting to face the music.
If Gore had been elected president... well, I dunno. It would be interesting to go back in time and see what would happen had he been elected rather than Bush. How would he have handled the 9/11 attacks? Would we still be in Iraq? Would we have gone to Iraq at all? The world will never know. 'Tis a pity, 'tis a shame.
Thanks for listening
Kaitlyn

Global Warming is a joke. Just because someone makes a cute little movie about something it doesn't make it true. I think humans do some damage to the earth but we're by no means destroying the earth. I believe in natural heating and cooling patterns. It's not a big deal. It's something used as political leverage. Plus everything that is "Green" seems to cost more. So I find that strange.
Now it would be interesting to see what Gore would've done in office but if there was a time machine that would allow me to go back and somehow change the election results I wouldn't do it.
