So many places to go and people to see. Honestly how is one expected to pick just one? Questions like these are applied to everything from the family vacation to the dinner to have on any given night. This thought also applies to quite possibly one of the most important decisions of any young adults life. The stress that accompanies this decision can be unbearable in addition to the stress of scholarships and the schoolwork that accompanies this truly special season.
My counselor did offer some advice that made me relax on this decision.
First apply to all the colleges you really want to attend and could imagine yourself attending.
Then, visit the one's that you have not visited and rule those out.
Go ahead and reserve a room at the colleges left so you won't be left in the skanky dorms.
Apply for the special scholarships at the school and all others that come your way.
As graduation approaches you will have either been accepted or rejected(hopefully not the latter)
Pick the college that you have the most money to attend and the lowest cost left to pay. This may not even be necessary. A decision may have already been made.
Don't go to school just because that's where your best friend goes. If you're really that great of friends you can keep in touch and meet like once a month.
And don't worry if you don't get into a college you really wanted to go to. The other schools you apply to will provide the same education and will look just as good. After all, it's what you learn, not where you learn it.
