Instructors Guide to Becoming A Great Professor: A Student’s Perspective
Well I am no one special to write this. I am just going to put out what I think makes Professors great in my point of view in accordance with lectures in Universities. For lectures, first of all I think a good introduction of the class and classroom expectations ought to be explained clearly and I know that all the teachers I had have done this. They should also have a very specific syllabus with the classroom outline. It’s not just the material, but how the instructor presents that material that is relevant. I think that a good instructor should post their notes ahead of lecture so that students can be ahead of the game. But at the same time, take attendance so that students don’t slack off and not show up to class because they already have the notes. I think it is also important that the instructor speaks with a loud and clear voice and keeps control of the classroom in a professional manner. A good instructor would give a lecture about the best -known- way to study and prepare for that class. Such as how to take notes in that class and how much time to dedicate to listening and how much to writing. I think an instructor’s job isn’t to make a class hard for students, their job is to make learning easy and understandable so that students may go on to the next level. Prelecture and post lecture assignments are good studying tools for students. Homework assignments are useful as well. Even practice exams help. Study guides are great tools also. An instructor should be organized in their methods otherwise the student’s get confused. I am not sure what to say about exams but I think that as long as the instructor did their best to help their students and that the material that was on the exam had been explained clearly in class, there is not much more they can do.

A good instructer to me is someone who's interesting enough that you could listen to lecture on for quite a while without being bored. Good professors keep education fun and...well...educational.

Mind Control is Easier Than You Think
Thats so true, I guess thats what I meant for my blog but probably didn't know how to put it in words.
You did pretty good in this blog. I think you took a little more of a technical stance, what with the "speak with a loud, clear voice" kind of info. Hey, that's important too. My one professor says some words strangely and we (the students) can't always tell exactly what he's trying to say.

I second Bridge`s comment. Also, good professors demonstrate respect for their students and are open to communication with students both inside and outside of the classroom.
