so im writing about a rencet blog that i read...not to makes anything nasty of it but to question, to understand....
i recently read a blog about men and their "ways" and although he was being quite frank in how doggish males can be, it still seemed to me like the boys will be boys line. that yes guys will do anything to have sex with a women, some even slip their drinks...that yes they do yell out degrading comments but its because they have to put up a show for their friends, and although i loved how blunt he was, i still wondered...
this is what i replied..
"i love that you bring the "true" nature of guys to attention but also question why instead of just speaking about it and saying oh well thats guys....you don't...maybe write to other guys saying how they act is inappropriate....i mean its the classic boys are suppose to get in trouble so lets not teach them consequences. that guys want sex and some will go as far as slipping a girls drink and saying you don't agree but yet...saying oh well i can't change it so im going to let my sister...my mother...my friend...get raped? giving women a disclaimer to the ways of men is not going to make it acceptable"
his reply was that he would not change and entire culture...which is true one man can not change an entire way of thinking...but one man can tell one more man that treating women like that is wrong...stop his friend and say " he what you said is pretty shitty" this writer is a white man in america damn it, he has more power in this country than any race/gender here.
this is like racism....its not going to change over night, and it wont be completly gone but one person has the power to effect another persons life.
no power to change what people think....bullshit.
