We do not need medication anymore!

People are starting to become immune to medication. We need to face the fact that if we do not find a different way to vaccinate humans or animals, we will eventually kill the coming generations. In the past, we had doctors who attached leaches to their patients as a cure right? It is considered inhuman to attach leaches to an individual as a cure or should I say remedy? I classify remedies as drugs.

I say all drugs are bad and eventually will not hold up for people globally. Doctors are killing society by offering drugs to their patients. People get addicted to these the drugs and/or think they need more perscribed drugs. Little by little people are becoming immune. Their immune system can not fight off sickness using these drugs eventually.

Now, why you ask do these doctors perscribe the drugs right now? It is because they get more patients and receive more money. We mostly have the doctors who actually want to help patients right? Well, have you ever thought that these doctors are actually harming human kind as we speak?

For instance, flu vaccinations are not working on everyone right now. This means that people are becoming immune. With the drug industry booming who knows what is next? The extremes may be death, a death like leaches coming from the past.

For instance, flu vaccinations are not working on everyone right now. This means that people are becoming immune.

Flu vaccinations don't work because there different influenza strains. But we don't know which strains are going to hit the hardest in any given year, so we guess. This year, we didn't guess so well, and the strains that WEREN'T in the vaccine are the ones making everyone sick.

Do you even know how vaccinations work? You take an inactive virus, or a chunk of a virus, or (sometimes) even a live virus or a toxin produced by a bacterium, and you put it into the body (usually through a shot, but there are some oral vaccinations as well). Then, your immune system recognizes parts of the virus (actually proteins roughly 8 amino acids long), and starts fighting it off. You then get a memory for it, so the next time you see that virus, you can fight it off so much more quickly, and thus don't get sick, or at least, not as sick. Vaccinations thus stimulate the immune system to act.

Now, you do have some argument. We use antibiotics so much that bacteria evolve to be resistant. Pencillin and ampicillin are basically null and void now, because so many different strains have evolved to be resistant of them. And with few exceptions, it's better to let your body tackle a disease for a day or two before you try to kill the microbes yourself (though drugs) so that your immune system can have the chance to build up an immunity to whatever disease it is.

And for the record, maggots are used to remove dead tissue, and leeches were used for bloodletting, which often did more harm than good. Now, though, leeches are used to increase blood flow to a graft. But I think discussing them in your blog detracts from your real point. They are not drugs, and if you consider remedies drugs, they aren't remedies either.

I actually copied and pasted that same bit you did and was going to say the SAME exact thing with the exception of maybe a few sentances. Great minds ponder similar. : )

I respect your rebuttal and I acknowledge some of it to a point now. Thank you.

What about mental disorders and people who are stabilized with the medications? Some individuals are impervious to therapy and have a chemical imbalance that can only be fixed through pills. Should they be taken off of medication as well?

jessica85339's picture

No, I do not think people with mental disorders should be taken off the pills. I believe that the people who have mental disorders need the medications. If I was to say they shouldn't I bet there would be more civil disobedience in behavior whether it is on school grounds or home. I believe that people with mental disorders actually need the medication, but I do not believe in the whole cause of needing headache medications constantly when someone discovers they have a headache. Besides, if I did not think people with mental disorders should not take medication more crime will occur like the newest school shooting. Moreover, some people need medication for the essence of survival and I think that is ethical.

Yeah I used to be the happiest camper you ever saw and then my brain chemicals fell off balance and to get them in cycle again I had to take some medications. I had some really uncool, definatly not like me depression going on. To do that cycle-getting-on-again thing some people only need a few months like me, others take longer, but never ever ever hesitate to get that kind of help if thats what you need. I was totally against taking them when I started just because I didn't believe in medication, but they gave me back my happiness and my gusto. I hate admitting that I had to rely on a drug to do that, even though it was prescription, but it was the only option hadn't tried.

By the way to the author of this blog, do you take any medications ? Do you have any ailments to speak of ? Not pouncing on you... just curious.

Not really. I have asthma and I sometimes object to taking my inhaler. During my first year of ever playing soccer I didn't use my inhaler that much. My coach noticed that I kept coughing and would still go out to try my best. Taking my inhaler made me seem weaker than my team mates, but my coach knew what my problem was. He informed me that he had asthma too and that there was nothing to be ashamed about.

Besides having an inhaler, I take iron pills that I still see no point in taking. I use to have nose bleeds when I was younger and I do not know if it has anything to do with iron. Pain reliever pills did not even help when later on in life I broke my nose. Sometimes, I think pills do not work out for people.

P.S. It is alright that you asked.

If you have something like asthma and really don't want to take anything like an inhaler for it I would suggest going to see a doctor that specializes in natural remedys. I used to think they where all a total hoax but when I got back from doing some studying in Guatemala I had like four different things my doctor was going to give me harsh treaments to take care of, this natural whatchamacallit doctor gave me the right combination of meds (non-antibiotic) to take care of it all and I was better in only three weeks as opposed to longer.

It seems too good to be true, but I don't really use my inhaler that often (even if I play sports).

Are you sure the doctor was a physician? One who had to pass the USMLE (or the COMLEX) for a license to practice? I've never heard of an MD or DO that specializes in natural remedies (since many aren't put through trials), so I'm curious.
