How do we know when someone is showing their true selves? So often people are afraid to show their true personality or their real selves to others all because their afraid of judgement. They are afraid of what other people think of them and what people might say if they show their true colors. I'm just as guilty as the next person about hiding who I really am, but i have also discovered that it's better just to show people who I really am.
So i guess you could say that I understand the fears teenagers have about being judged by their peers because it can be cruel, but even the most cruel comment come back to bite the person saying it. More often than not people that talk about others are more insecure than the person being talked about, that's why they are talking. It's almost like an endless cycle someone is insecure so they talk about someone which then makes someone talk about them because they are mean it never ends. All this is because someone didn't show their true colors because of fear. Hiding who you are from people because of fear is silly but it's a real thing that happens every day in schools around the world. The best thing to do is no where a mask the more people see the real you the more people get to know you. The more real you are the more real people will be with you, and in turn you will find out which of the people you hang out with are wearing a mask and which friends are showing their true colors.
Behind the Mask

I don't think that young people neccisarily hide who they are as much as they just do not know who they are.
Fact: People show different sides of themselves to different people. It's just who we are. Think of yourself and how you act around your grandmother, your friend, and a teacher. Act a little different, don't you?
But people can conceal things like an addiction or personal belief that defines them too. I guess that's more what you were going for.
Little blogging tip: separate paragraphs with a space. It's easier to read that way.
