My Apologies For Blogging Differently.

I'm sorry. Really. I am.
When I started this blog, (which wasn't that long ago,) I admit, I started it for the whole "Scholarship!!!" background. It popped up on FastWeb! I liked to write, I decided it would be a fun thing to do. Fun, and the fact that my dad was already jumping down my throat about doing scholarships.
Then I got into it, I enjoyed unleashing my thoughts on a blog in which virtual strangers would read it and tell you what they thought. I thought it was amazing, I couldn't wait to come home from school or from a friend's house and see what people thought about my perceptions. (Here come the, "ever heard of LiveJournal?" snarky thoughts. Please!)
But then I started to realize that I wasn't writing about the "right" stuff. You know, the stuff that would make me even eligible for the scholarship. It even got to the point where I recieved somewhat snarky notes from other bloggers because I was writing about the "day to day" stuff. I brushed it off, because it's sticks and stones after all -- those who have nothing better to do than criticize my blog didn't really affect me much since I didn't even know them.
And then I started to think about it.
How are day to day activities not progress? You wake up in the morning, you go through your day, you come home, you do it all over again. To me, that would be making progress. The fact that you get up in the morning and maybe accomplish some small task in that you wanted to get off your check list -- that's progress.
World progress stems from myriad individual progress.
And, for example, you getting over someone you once loved, setting a personal record in a race, or finally getting an 'A' in a class you have to strain to stay awake in... that's all... progress.
Is blogging about the most controversial issues you can come up with really progression? What if you rarely know about that of which you speak?
Is it really fair to ostracize those who have more to say about what they encompass in their daily lives than what they know little about?
I think it's fair to say that technically, I am, blogging for progress.

If you aren't learning anything, you're not 'blogging for progress.' The idea of the contest is not 'progress' as in time passing for you personally, but about progressing as a society.

^exactly. Progress is more about simply the passing of time, it's about what you learn and gain.

But... I do learn something new every day. I believe everyone encompasses something in their lives every day that's new. ...Wait, did I even ever say that I wasn't learning anything new??
Am I not a part of society? We all individually make up society... time individually passes for each of us... we all individually progress...

Please take the time to learn about ProgressiveU from the links I have provided. Complaining that the site is not accepting your blogs in a positive way will not improve your comments and blog reads, and definitely will not make you many friends here. We've seen every type of argumentative, angry, and complaining blog you can imagine; they don't really phase users here anymore, because we know the blog writer will leave eventually. If you hate the site so much, as well as what it stands for, and would rather write about yourself, why do you stay?

The goal of this scholarship for you would include to listening to your readers, and what they want you to write about, so you can reach more people and therefore gather as many points as possible from reads. Read points generally make or break the scholarship for users.

I'm sorry if it came across as a complaint to you. It is the internet, and I suppose this html text can be misinterpreted.
I just misunderstood, because I'm sure people have different perceptions of what exactly progress is.
And I'm sorry... when did I ever say I hated the blog?! What?!
I'm just incredibly confused as to how all these things are inferred when I never said anything of that nature?!
Maybe I could use a couple more punctuation marks?!
I'm not trying to be threatening, or angry, or moody, or whatever... I'm just genuinely confused.

Stop arguing and just read the information. You'll benefit more from the FAQs and About page than having this discussion with me.

What's progress is this blog. It's progressive that you obey your dad when he nags you about money for school, that you were able to accept criticism on this site, and that you try to do your best in boring classes that are hard to stay awake in. What you've been blogging about is just progressive in a different kind of way.

Right, so then I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

This isn't about your progress. The blogs are supposed to be progressive towards society and others learning. We don't want to read about your progress, that is like reading your journal. I want to learn when I read blogs, I want to read something that will widen my perspective on others. Progress comes in many shapes and sizes, but on this site, it is a big, irregularly shaped progressiveness for all of us.
