cruel injustice

So I have a little story to tell about something that is very profound to me.  There's this really sweet guy I work with and he told me about his first jail experience that was completely undeserved.

He worked at a restaurant as a host and his fellow coworker was well... a psychopath.  There were numerous customer complaints about this man and finally, one day something was done about it.  The police came into the restaurant and arrested the person who they thought was this psychopath, but who was actually my innocent coworker.  He had to spend a night in jail while the real crazy guy who had a record in over ten states was running around free.

However, it doesn't stop there.  Once the police discovered that he was not the man they were looking for, they expunged his record, but when he went back to the restaurant, he found himself without a job.  The owners said it would be bad for the restaurant for him to stay because most of the customers were regulars that saw him get carted off by the cops.

It just seems ridiculous how such cruel injustice can exist in the world.
