After it is all said and done,young blue collar family's aren't going to make it in AMERICA.We are going to be pushed under by immigrants.Sure we should accept people of all races(and I do)but at the same time what about us AMERICANS.Do we just keep quiet while the HISPANIC population over take our schools,jobs and resources? Has any one every wondered what is wrong with MEXICO.It has been infested by over population and a huge quantity of feces.Mexicans have destroyed their country and now they want to come here and do the same thing.And has anyone wondered why we have to speak SPANISH in order to get a good tele-marketing job.Take their kids out of our schools(unless they want to pay a tuition,no jobs unless they have their green cards.Make it illegal to send American funds across the borders!!!!!!Make it a child welfare issue if more than one family is shacked up in a house where kids are living.Enforce a fire code where MEXICANS are piled in one house elbow to elbow.Report ALL landlords that let them shack up like that.

Ummm..... While I understand the problem that people have with illegal immigration, you're really, really close to crossing the line on this blog, if you haven't crossed it already.
I'm not going to flag the post, but most people would consider it highly offensive when you make claims like 'Mexico is full of feces", or at being called scared, stupid or blind. It's perfectly fine to want to solve Illegal Immigration, and we'd be happy for you or anyone else to blog on the topic, but not in this way.

I may have went too far.I am very frustrated.My husband is an american painter and losing work because of being under bid and 10 illegals can do the job in half the time.And it is my opion that hispanics are dirty , lazy people.Sorry if my blog offends you but if I can't say what I want for fear I will be flaged what is the point?I read something on here that offended me too.but I left it to someone else to agree with and that is that..What is the point of debating if you can't hear all views.
When I was a little girl my mom and I went on a trip to visit my great aunt in Harlengen TX.My aunt took me in to mexico for a little family fun day.Well needless to say when I got back it made me appriciate being from this beautiful clean land.Yes this country was built on immigration And I feel like those immigrants wanted to see america prosper.But todays hispanic immigrants don't want america to move ahead,they just want what they can get easily and for free over here.
So what happens when our country goes down the tubes.I feel the Hispanics will take no responcibility in helping bring it back.I have no idea what percentage of Hispanics consider America to be thier land and take pride in it ,but from what I have seen not many.And just to clairify I am talking about illegals not people who have come here the right way and take great pride in calling themselves americans.But it is all these other illegal immigrantsthat are causing the problem.

You see, it's things like this that are going to turn people right off. You can talk about illegal immigration and how you want it stopped. But, while I understand your frustration, keep it civil.
Oh, and all of those immigrants weren't trying to become part of the American culture. That's a total myth. Then, like now, most of the older generation didn't learn English and settled in communities with people of the same culture.

I'm as anti-illegal-immigration as anybody. Track back through my many posts if you don't believe me.
But you don't help yourself and you don't help the people who have been fighting hard for years to get this problem addressed by making a bunch of racial slurs.
All you do is make it easier for the other side to discount us all as a bunch of racists who should not be listened too. I don't appreciate being called a racist because I am not. But you have just handed my opponents a 2 x 4 and they will happily use it to beat me around the head and shoulders. One of their favorite tactics is to paint with a broad brush and because you have shown yourself to be a racist now everybody who is against illegal immigration is also a racist. Please knock it off because you are making it even tougher for us to prevail in the debate.
Isn't it enough that almost every logical argument on this topic falls to our advantage in this debate? We can win this argument with reason and logic. The hate is not necessary or helpful and it makes you (and not the Hispanics) look like a miserable excuse for a human being.
Here are a few of the many examples of arguments that land in our favor:
- They have broken the law and they should be punished
- Rewarding illegal behavior with amnesty encourages more illegal behavior
- Uneducated, unskilled people impose more costs on the treasury then they contribute to the treasury. We need educated immigrants that contribute. We don't need to import more poverty.
- Allowing illegal immigrants to cut in line sends the wrong message and is an insult to immigrants who try to follow our laws
- People who's first action on entering our country is to break out laws don't have the moral character to be entrusted with the gift of citizenship
- Illegal immigrants depress wages for our own struggling poor.
- Illegal immigrants attend the same schools as our own poor people and because of their English as a Second Language Requirement they consume resources that deprive our own poor of a decent education
- Illegal immigrants allow dishonest employers to undercut honest employers
- If there was really a shortage of unskilled labor, wages would be rising
- Allowing unskilled immigrants to cross our borders without medical examination is causeing the re-introduction of horrible diseases like tuburculosis which had been previously stamped out.
- Illegal immigrants do the most economic harm to minorities and legal immigrants who are already struggling in our economy.
- Illegal immigrants allow employers to impose the cost of their cheap labor on taxpayers while they pocket the profits resulting from cheap labor.
See how easy that is? Without half trying, I listed a dozen rational arguments against illegal immigration and not a hateful comment or a single reference to race in the bunch. Just reason and logic.
Oh and by the way, my mother was born in Cuba which means she is a Hispanic and I am a Hispanic. She attended Wellsley College and got her PHD at Harvard. She has spent a career trying to tell people about population issues and has specifically focused on immigration and its harmful aspects. Thank you very much for implying that she is "dirty and lazy". Not!

You say you want to be educated and that is why you are participating in this blog.
My previous response was quite polite considering that you said that Hispanics were lazy and dirty. And since I am part Hispanic that is hard to interpret in any way but to mean that you think I am lazy and dirty and that my Mother is lazy and dirty. If you insult somebody you can generally expect an insult in response. That's how people tend to be and I am no exception.
But if you are serious about being educated then take a long hard look at what I wrote because its intent was largely educational. The same with this post. Read and learn.
You and I are largely in agreement about illegal immigration. And I agree with you that we said much the same thing in our respective previous posts. And I agree that the main difference was how we said it. I do not agree that Hispanics are lazy and dirty and I don't think it is right to make nasty comments about anybody because of their race or ethnicity. People should be judged as individuals by their actions and the content of their character. Making generalizations, particularly negaitive generalizations about an entire race is hateful and wrong.
If you are serious about being educated then you need to learn HOW to say things properly. A very good starting place would be to drop the hateful language because, beyond being mean and wrong, it does you more harm than good. Rather than conveying your points, which are generally rational, all you do is give your opponents in the debate a weapon that they can use against you. Once you are pegged as a racist the conversation is over and you lost the debate.
There is nothing wrong however with being angry about the situation. You have every right to be angry. And it is very effective to communicate the consequences of this problem on yourself. If your husband is losing work or suffering lower wages then people need to hear about that.
But lashing out with hatred does not do any good. It is mis-directed. Most of the illegal aliens are coming from a life that make yours look like royalty. I've traveled in Mexico and it is not hard to find big chunks of their population living in tiny squatter shacks made out of cardboard with dirt floors and no plumbing or electricity. You may be poor but I bet you are not even close to that poor. They work extremely hard and maybe get paid a few dollars per day. You actually have quite a lot in common with these people because you, along with them, know what it is like to be shafted by your own government. They are getting shafted by their elites in their government and you are getting shafted by our elites in our government.
Which brings me to my next point. Rather than expressing your hatred towards Mexicans, which only causes you to lose the argument, try expressing your anger towards your government. That is where the anger is properly directed. Illegal immigration is only happening because our government allows it. They could easily enforce our borders and our laws in the workplace. They just refuse to even though they have a Constitutional Duty to protect our borders and enforce our laws.
The reason they won't is because the elites don't want the borders enforced. The rich Repuiblicans want cheap labor. The Democrats want Hispanic votes and poor people vote Democrat so they are happy to keep you poor too. If your wages are suppressed it is a win-win for them. The Labor Unions want more dues paying members. And the Catholic Churches want to fill the pews that were emptied by their pedeophile scandals. This whole problem is caused by elite people seeking to be even more elite. They want money and power and they are willing to shaft you to get it.
The poor Mexicans are just trying to feed themselves. Yeah they are breaking the law but it is the elites that are deliberately allowing it to happen. Go ahead and express your anger but make sure it is aimed in the right direction.
