My college degree has a $200,000+ price tag.

In my first semester of college i borrowed approximately $20,000, it, of course, it didn't cover my initail deposit, my books, flight ticket and regular daily needs. If i continue like this by the time i graduate i would owe about $200,000 minus interest. I know, i'm screwed, You don't need to tell me.

Needless to say i'm a big educattion guy, but i find myself wondering if it's all worth it. Like that Tupac sonmg says...
Why am I fighting to live, if I'm just living to fight
Why am I trying to see, when there ain't nothing in sight
Why am I trying to give, when no one gives me a try
Why am I dying to live, if I'm just living to die

i might as well start a business, i might as well buy a house,, or even get married.

As a conservative i find myself looking to my inner strength and my God NOT MY GOVERNMENT for help. However, there comes a time when events like this, just like the war, shake the very core of my fundamental beliefs. I beliieve may not take action, but the question of should government not take action arises. If they should, what kind of action should it be.

I'm not t one of those smart kids who get full scholarsips or even any scholarship at all. But for some reason i feel i deserve a chance, maybe because i try to do my best or maybe because i don't realize college is for the rich and the extra smart. As grim as my situation may seem. i know many people share the same fate, maybe even worse. In any event all your sympathy's are accepted. Maybe what i'll do is keep rolling with the flow and see where it takes me.

Don't worry, man. What you need to do is sell blood, organs, and seman. That'll bring another $100 every week, at least.

First of all, what school are you going to?! What you pay for a semester, I'm paying for over a year.

That aside, you don't have to be "smart" to get scholarships. You just have to take the time and effort to apply for them.

Pays for nearly two years for me. Minus food and stuff, but that's what my job is for.

Assuming Besher (the new governor) doesn't go through with the proposed budget cuts, I only have to pay $7k per semester.

I pay less than that for my apartment and my tuition and fees. I paid just over $10k for both semesters in 2007.

I envy you.

My tuition total is 32,000 a year.

Of course, since I'm not living on campus, it's 28,000...

and my scholarships cover it all (minus books, transportation, my apartment, etc. etc)

But I'm scared of my scholarships "running out" or being taken away for some reason...

I'm an idiot for choosing a private university! lol

Since your scholarships cover all your tuition costs, you're def not an idiot for choosing a private uni! Enjoy the awesome opportunity you have!

You don't have to be uber smart to get a scholarship. Just work hard and keep applying. Bring up your GPA, keep it up, and apply to as many scholarship competitions as possible. Petition the University every semester for scholarships. They don't want you to graduate $200,000 in debt - that's ridiculous - so talk to your registrar rep and get some assistance.
