I have just found out that Fred Phelps and his followers at the Westboro Baptist Church are planning to protest at the funerals of the students who were killed at VA Tech.
The following is what has been posted on the WBC site http://www.godhatesamerica.com...:
WBC to Preach at Funerals of Virginia Tech Dead
"WBC will preach at the funerals of the Virginia Tech students killed on campus during a shooting rampage April 16, 2007. You describe this as monumental horror, but you know nothing of horror -- yet. Your bloody tyrant Bush says he is 'horrified' by it all. You know nothing of horror -- yet. Your true horror is coming. "They shall also gird themselves with sackloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads" (Eze. 7:18).
Why did this happen, you ask? It's simple. Your military chose to shoot at the servants of God today, and all they got for their effort was terror. Then, the LORD your God sent a crazed madman to shoot at your children. Was God asleep while this took place? Was He on vacation? Of course not. He willed this to happen to punish you for assailing His servants."
This is an absolute outrage. I cannot even comprehend the incredible amount of disgust I feel knowing that these vile people with be these, defiling the funerals of those innocent victims with their hate messages.
Even though I'm not sure what good this is actually supposed to do, there's an online petition to sign to supposedly try and stop them:

(You don't have to donate, just sign your name and close the window.)
I myself am not a Christian. But this image that these people try to paint puts true Christians to shame.
The New Testament, which is the basis of Christianity, preaches the idea that God is loving, kind, and forgiving, not wrathful and vengeful. He's not a four-year-old with super powers who smites humans just because they piss him off.
If there is a God and Hell. . .I hope he sends Fred Phelps and his people there.

I've come to the conclusion that people like the Westboro Baptist Church are too delusional to reason with. Most people would agree that people like this are very narrowminded and that it's impossible trying to argue with them. These are the same people who applaud 9/11 and any other sort of tragedy. These people really have nothing better to do.
It seems that common sense isn't exactly very common these days.

Amen to that.
I would be very happy if someone dropped a bomb on those people - and I use the term 'people' VERY loosely here.
I'd love to see what they say if that actually did happen, since they believe they are safe from God's "wrath".

I'd hope they wouldn't say anything after a bomb dropped on them ;_;
