many individuals believe smoking is a very terrible thing to do, but in many other countries such as spain and japan smoking is a very common thing to see. even though smoking is pounded into people starting at a very youthful age starting in Elementary school through programs such as D.A.R.E., many people still continue to smoke. Many people criticize smoking as being unhealthy, but in Japan the average female lifespan is the longest in the world and the Male lifespan is ranked within the top 10 in the position of second. i believe that things such as fast foods are more unhealthy to the human body than cigarettes. the obesity rate of people in America is steadily rising and health diseases are starting to appear at a younger age compared to in the past. more measures have been taken to help prevent smoking by making a lot of areas illegal to smoke at, but the government has not taken any actions towards the fast food industries as to make the food healthier for people. as a life example i had a grandfather that has been smoking since at the tender age of 14 and ate healthy, he lived till the age of 82. along with his smoking addiction he also drank alcohol on a daily basis, i believe he was able to live this long because of his eating habits were very healthy even though he had very unhealthy addictions. what is your opinion on this matter?

My opinion is that someone else being fat has no affect on my life, while someone else blowing dirty smoke at me just might.
Also, D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) isn't about smoking.
