We've killed two birds with one stone :) We've been able to simplify the flagging process which helps both the moderators and the users.
First, you may now Flag blog posts, forum topics, comments, images, and users.
You'll notice, our beloved Flag-Boy is gone. In his place, there is now a "Flag This" link. Click on that link and follow the steps. This will send your flag directly to the administrators who can then review the questionable content and decide on which course of action - if any - should be taken.
This means: you no longer have to type in URLs or usernames into a form to send to the administrators. In fact, there is no form to fill out! Yay!
And, we have set this up so that only users may flag any type of content; which means we will be receiving less spam-flags from anonymous users abusing Flag-Boy, which slows down our response time.
Please, use the flags responsibly. Do not just start flagging things because you dislike a blogger, or disagree with the point of view that blogger has portrayed. Think before you flag! If a blog violates the TOS, is plagiarised, or does not seem to fit within progressive values as defined by this site (not your own subjective interpretation) then flag it. If a blogger is inciting hatred or harrassing you, flag them. If a user sends you a harrassing Private Message or spam, flag them. Do not flag someone just because they've misspelled a word or TyPe LiKe ThIs.
The flags are not meant to censor anyone; they are only meant to help sustain a comfortable environment for everyone to voice their opinions.
Additionally, you can unflag a post. This will be useful in letting us know that a certain blog or image is no longer offensive. For example, if someone wrote a joke that you misinterpretted, or if you find that they have re-written the blog or forums topic. This will automatically retract your flag.

Okay... I totally flagged this, but I couldn't resist. I had to try it out... it's damn near orgasmic!!

Well, if a moderator can do it...
; )
I'm making strange noises in the library because I keep getting e-mail notifications about it. I'll let Fallon figure out this one, though, since I dealt with hers...

Hey... I only did it once because I have mild OCD (it's ok, I'm engineer, it might one day save your life), and then Fallon did it so I felt like it was ok to acquiesce to my obsession.
All those other people... bad Bad BAD!!!! Lol.
I am so glad that I am not a moderator.
What kind of noise is it making?
An email address is required, so I have it set to flag at flag-abuse@progressiveu. But I can change that - or we can change accessibility to that email box?

Noises I'M making, not the computer or e-mail or anything. I refreshed my mailbox and e-mails kept popping up.
It's fine going to that e-mail. I just get the e-mails because I"m watching the helpdesk and that's where they go :-)
There's an e-mail that I flagged on the helpdesk... can you take a look at it for me? I have to go to work in like 5, and I still haven't gotten lunch.

And I love you forever for it. :) Though, I passed out before I saw this, so Naomi got to deal with yours. Put it on my tab. I'll owe you one :)
