Article: "Grey's Anatomy" star Isaiah Washington, fiercely criticized for an anti-gay slur he reportedly made last year, said on Friday he was "mad as hell" at being fired from the hit U.S. television hospital drama.
Washington, who played Dr. Preston Burke on the show, was released on Thursday by "Grey's" producers at ABC Television Studios, part of the network that airs the program.
Last year, Washington sparked controversy after a heated argument on the "Grey's" set in which he reportedly called co-star T.R. Knight a "faggot."

Comments:
It is nice to see that his remarks about the LGBT community have gone punished but he will be surely missed on the show. it is like an Imus all over again just not that blown up because the comment was directed to a gay man. I am glad that the network has responeded in such a manner. My only question is...will Grey's Anatomy recover from the loss of one of its main charecters(sp)?

I don't think Grey's was ever dependent on Dr. Burke. I know I never sat down to watch it because Washington was an actor on the show. He does add something tot he show, but I think it's time for him to leave. I wonder if they'll get some one to replace him..... I know Addison is leaving soon too. When will that happen? I wonder if the "perfect" world of Seattle Grace isn't as great as we all thought.
You know what else will ruin your perception of the "perfect world" of Seattle Grace? You can't see the Space Needle from ANY of the hospitals in Seattle.
