Today's Flair of the Day is white, and in blue letters reads, "I'm just a nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody who can save anybody."

Woah, woah, woah. Hold on a sec...let's take a second to wrap our minds around that, if we need to. It sure threw me for a loop when I first read it.
Now, let's think about this one together, shall we? Ignoring the entertaining fact that four out of the fourteen words rhyme, it stirs up some interesting thoughts. The first part of it...the "I'm just a nobody" part...well, I must say that I can agree with that one. I'm no one special. Just your average, socially awkward writer who plays tennis and has finally admitted to being an Otaku. We can all agree that I'm nothing special. A nobody, if you will. But what about all of you? Have you done anything spectacular or fantastic with your life that will make people more prone to actually listening to you when you have something important to say? I can't be the only nobody here on ProgressiveU. Heck, if people listened to me in real life, I wouldn't be here blogging right now.
So, onto the rest of that amusing sentence. "I'm just a nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody who can save anybody." Think about it for a second. What do you get from it? Surely there are others among my fellow nobodies out there trying to tell everybody something. Maybe even about somebody. And possibly, that somebody CAN save anybody.
For me, that somebody is Jesus Christ. He has saved me, from more than jus my sin, and truly can save anybody.
But for someone else, this somebody could be, well...anybody. The ambiguity of this Flair leaves each person to reach their own conclusion about what exactly it means. For Christians like me, it most likely means that we are normal people trying to spread the Word of God.
But what about non-Christians? Could there be someone else that they're telling everyone about? Does this someone save people? In what way do they save people? Why is someone telling everyone about them? Do they deserve recognition for something they did?
These questions and a million more like them are racing through my mind. Does anyone get something different from it? Feel free to share any thoughts you have; I would absolutely love to get a different perspective on this one.

When I first read your title, I didn't think anything religious, most likely because I am not a religious person. What first popped into my head was that anyone has the ability to help someone - maybe that could lead to saving them. I wish I could explain my thoughts, better, but here goes:
Any ordinary "nobody" can be a "someone" in "anyone's" life. It's hard to say what kind of impact you can make on someone else's life. Sometimes even a small gesture can mean so much to someone else. For example, so many people in nursing homes don't have anyone to go and visit them. Taking a couple of hours out of your Saturday afternoon to go and visit a resident can mean so much to a nursing home resident could be equated to "saving" them from another day of loneliness and despair.

I love the way you put it. I definitely think that any "nobody" can become a really important part of someone else's life. We all have the opportunity to be that for others.

That is so very true! I've been thinking about it more today...I know that, even though I'm a "nobody," to my penpal, and possibly more of my close friends, I'm definitely "somebody" important, like they're important to me. And I didn't even think about it this way until the idea was put into my head with a comment...

Wow, I never thought of that one as having a non religious meaning, my mind just went straight to Jesus. I like the meaning mentioned above, that everyone can save others.

My mind did the same thing. "Look, it's talking about Jesus!" But when I realized that it could also mean something else, but I just wasn't sure what, I absolutely had to blog on it.
