Specter Huffs and Puffs at the White House But Is It For Real?.

Arlen Specter (R-PA) threatened the white House to co-operate or he will be subpheonaing the telecommunication companies saying Sunday that "There is "no doubt" the program violates the 1978 law that governs wiretaps in counterintelligence probes."
But does Specter mean business this time?

Those of us with memories longer than a telephone cord remember that just a few short months ago, Arlen Specter's Press Office specifically stated that Alberto Gonzalez would be placed under oath regarding the Justice Department's investigation into the NSA spying and the FISA laws, and yet when the time came for the hammer to meet the nail, he allowed Gonzalez to lie without being under oath. Jack Cafferty said, "Arlen Specter is the only Republican trying to save us from fascism." IF that's the case, then why did Specter allow Gonzalez to testify without being placed under oath. Furthermore, is Representative Specter just huffing and puffing or is he willing to actually do more than huff and puff?

Nonetheless in today's news Specter issued this ultimatum to Dick Cheney:

"If we don't get some results, I'm prepared to go back to demand hearings and issue subpoenas if necessary," Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter told CNN's "Late Edition."

After a public spat last week with Vice President Dick Cheney over congressional oversight of eavesdropping and other issues, Specter said Sunday that a telephone call and letter from Cheney Thursday marked a "step forward."

Specter, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, on Wednesday sent a stinging letter to Cheney threatening a "constitutional confrontation" and calling for increased cooperation from the administration on the National Security Agency's no-warrant eavesdropping program.

Cheney responded in a letter Thursday saying the NSA doesn't need congressional approval to run the program.
Cheney wrote that the administration is willing to work with Congress "in good faith" to reassure lawmakers concerned about the program. But he added, "there is no need for any legislation" authorizing the NSA to monitor calls between people in the United States and terrorism suspects overseas without a court order.

So let's get this right...Dick Cheney, the man with the lowest 'trust' rating of any White House official thinks the American people should just have blind faith in them? The same man who lied about the "last throes..." and lied about Nigerian documents and outed a Covert Cia spy...

Blind Faith. So that's what our Democracy is about today?
Let's hope that Arlen Specter shows them that blind faith isn't going to cut it from an administration who has already destroyed all their own credibility, their party's credibility, and the credibility of this great nation.

where did you find this ilove it
