Be Proud

Okay so I am going to try and make this a blog, and keep the ranting to a minimum.

Be proud of who you are. It is simple. Be proud that you aced your last test, be proud you held a job for longer than a year, be proud that you are an AMERICAN.

I keep reading all these blogs about these annoying "white" people saying life isn't fair, I want money to college blah blah BLAH. You know what? Write a freaking essay. There are THOUSANDS of scholorships that have nothing to do with the color of your skin.

Why is it that we can not be what our ancestors came here to be? They came to be American, not to turn over in their graves at the sound of unsettled race-related disputes. I am not white. I am American and I am ME.

We all came from the same place and we are all the same animal.

We are all human. No things are not equal and they never will be.

Everybody is always complaining about this and that, well you won't see significant changes in our lifetime, so you're wasting your breath. I have much more to say but I cannot seem to get all my thoughts into this blog since there is an overwhelming amount of them.

All in all I just want to get one message across: Get over it.

I had my complaining blog yesterday. Hopefully it wasn't to annoying. I see where you are coming from though. It does get annoying. I make payments to my college. and If I don't have extra money then oh well. The thing to think about is your going to have a good amount of money when you get out of college. Plus alot of younger people who don't pay bills yet...rude awakening

Thanks :] I hope mine wasn't too annoying either... well atleast I am not whining about being white right? Hahaa. Well ya, I am paying for college and I am trying to take advantage of all the scholarships that are available to all us "white" people. I feel like the ones who complain aren't trying hard enough and take it out on other people.

I think logical rant blogs can be good. You didn't really rant much you were just trying to get your point across. Yeah that is good your not whining about being white. I do hear this often.lol I have applied for many scholarships..and they aren't working out for me.

People can be lazy, so they want to complain because they don't feel like putting forth the effort. I used to be like that, then I realized it takes hard work.

The only thing that really gets me is when people complain that they need more money after having a huge scholarship given to them. Or people that throw there scholarship away. This girl I knew had 60,000 dollar scholarship and she got into drugs and alcohol and lost it. I was so pissed. I was like that could have been me! I could have had that money.

Yes! I know what you mean. When I first joined this sight, if I can remember correctly, a girl was complaining about how she had no money to pay for college. She then proceeded to mention she had a $5,000 scholarship for each year at her college. I was in shock, I would cry if I got that (from joy of course). People are so quirky.

Complaining doesn't help, you're right, but moving forward and trying for progress does.

True, but sometimes we can't help the past and I feel that so many people resent others because of the repayment they recieve. Progress is, like I said, actually taking the time to take advantage of all the scholarships that ARE available rather than blogging on this site (which is a non-discriminating scholarship...) and complaining about the ones they can't have.

I also hate it when they very well could have had enough money. There was an article in the paper a long time ago, about filing for financial aid. There was a family mentioned in the article, with one child. The family made enough, much more than enough, to be able to send their kid to college. But, what'd they do? They spent it all. Now they complain about not getting financial aid.

This really upsets me. I come from a family with 5 kids (3 of us will be in college at once). My Dad works full-time, and my mom part-time, whenever she can, because she also has to be a mom. While we do file for FAFSA, we don't complain that it's far too little. We deal with it and find other ways, such as getting a job ourselves, or applying for tons of scholarships. (We're pretty talented kids...haha)

Especially in today's economy. People's money is going faster and they are dipping into their kids savings and their 401Ks. Not smart. I applied for financial aid and I knew I wouldn't get any but I tried anyways. I am glad you actually put forth the effort to do all the scholarships you can. I don't do all the scholarships available, but I don't complain either. I have a loan and I help out my parents. They saved since I was born so I am lucky, too bad not everybody is as lucky.
