I am certain you all have heard the story about Eliot Spitzer, the soon to be former governor of New York. If you have not, the story in a nutshell is Governor Spitzer has been using hookers for the past ten years. My first point is one of comedy; he has now allowed people to talk about hookers for days and days. As one radio host said, “Thank you Eliot Spitzer, for letting us talk about hookers for days and days and not have to talk about the economy or terrorists or anything. Thank you Eliot Spitzer!” I found it quite hysterical to listen to. My second, and more important point, is about the family. How horrible is must have been for the young girls to go to school this week and be surrounded by the media. How terrible to go to school and everyone know about what was happening. It has to be bad enough to know what their dad did, but the entire world knows too. And the wife! She stood there with him while he gave his “I’m Sorry” speech. The poor woman; to find out that her husband had been cheating on her for a decade. And to find out from the media! I cannot imagine what they are going through. I hope they are able to get through this well.
